The global automotive landscape is shifting rapidly, driven by AI integration and a transition toward sustainable energy. At the heart of this transformation is the 360 Mobility Mega Show in Taiwan, a massive exhibition encompassing Taipei AMPA, E-mobility Taiwan and Autotronics Taipei. This year, under the theme “Empower Every Move,” the exhibition showcased a significant pivot from passenger vehicles toward advanced commercial solutions and hydrogen technology.
From Passenger to Commercial: The Rise of AI and Hydrogen
While last year’s focus leaned toward individual transport, this year’s show floor highlighted the maturity of Taiwan’s commercial vehicle sector. A major standout was the debut of AI-integrated hydrogen bus, developed through strategic collaborations between Taiwanese component leaders and global technology partners.
“Driven by Taiwan’s tech prowess, this revolutionary ‘AI-integrated hydrogen bus’ features high domestic autonomy, integrating Advantech’s AI systems and TECO’s motors with core fuel cells from Toyota. It stands as a pioneering hydrogen bus developed in Asia currently undergoing dual EU and UN certifications. Official order placements will launch in the second half of 2026, with the first batch of deliveries set for Q1 2027,” said Jason Lin, Manager of Exhibition Section III, Exhibition Department at TAITRA.

Navigating Geopolitical and Economic Headwinds
The industry faces significant hurdles, including rising fuel prices, high flight costs impacting international attendance, and shifting trade tariffs. Despite these setbacks, Taiwanese firms are proving resilient by diversifying their reach beyond traditional markets like the U.S. toward Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
“Export-oriented Taiwanese companies are no strangers to international tariff fluctuations and geopolitical shifts. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, they have successfully pivoted toward emerging markets in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Despite current global uncertainties, our industry’s proven adaptability keeps us optimistic. Taiwan’s true competitive edge is built on a culture that embraces forward thinking and constant transformation,” he shared.

The Taiwanese Advantage: Agility and ICT Integration
A recurring theme of the exhibition was Taiwan’s unique industrial structure. The island’s small geographic footprint allows for an incredibly dense and responsive supply chain, enabling companies to move from concept to prototype with unmatched speed.
“Taiwan anchors a uniquely resilient and irreplaceable technology supply chain. Driven by geographic density, our ‘one-day industrial cluster’ ensures that any product or solution can be sourced within 24 hours. This proximity enables immediate, cross-sector collaboration to resolve complex issues on the spot. It is this cohesive ecosystem that serves as the perfect foundation for seamlessly integrating Taiwan’s ICT, semiconductor, and AI expertise into the evolving automotive sector,” he explained.

Strengthening Global Ties: The Road to India
As TAITRA looks to the future, India represents a vital frontier. While traditional auto parts are a mainstay of the Indian market, Jason Lin sees the greatest synergy in high-tech “Edge Computing” and software-defined vehicle solutions. TAITRA continues to facilitate these connections through its 60 global branch offices and initiatives like the Taiwan Expo.
“Taiwanese enterprises excel in delivering highly customized, market-specific solutions. Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach, they carefully study local infrastructure and consumer behaviours to tailor their technology for target markets like India. While we continuously work to optimize market access and cost competitiveness, we believe our advanced, reliable technology establishes Taiwan as the long-term strategic partner of choice for Indian manufacturers,” he said.
Looking Ahead to 2027
The 360 Mobility Show is no longer just a trade fair; it is a roadmap for the future of transport. By 2027, TAITRA envisions a show dominated by fully autonomous logistics and even more diversified green energy solutions.
“Innovation remains our enduring constant. This year, we proudly showcased pioneering advancements—such as AI-integrated hydrogen bus and AI-powered smart cockpit—that were merely concepts a year ago. We will continue to elevate this strategic platform, guaranteeing that whenever international visitors look for future suppliers, they see Taiwan as their premier destination. Our mission is to consistently bring more advanced technology and high-value solutions to the global stage, year after year,” he concluded.
