Marelli Names Laurent Favre CEO as It Prepares to Exit Chapter 11

Marelli, the global automotive technology supplier, has appointed Mr. Laurent Favre as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. He takes over from Mr. Frederick “Fritz” Henderson, who has been serving as Interim CEO.

Mr. Favre will lead Marelli as it emerges from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and into the next phase of its turnaround. His appointment had been announced in April by the Ad Hoc Group of Lenders to Marelli.

In a separate announcement, the lenders said they plan to appoint Mr. Bram Schot as Chair of the Marelli Board. He will take up the role once Marelli emerges from Chapter 11 and all conditions of the restructuring have been met. As Chair, he will support the CEO and leadership team in delivering the company’s strategic priorities.

Mr. Schot spent more than three decades in senior roles at Mercedes-Benz and then the Volkswagen Group, most recently as CEO of Audi. He has also served on the boards of Shell, Richemont, Cognizant and Signify, two of them as deputy chairman. He is currently a Senior Advisor at the Carlyle Group.

Mr. Favre has spent more than 20 years in senior roles at leading automotive suppliers, including ThyssenKrupp, ZF and Benteler, where he was CEO of the Automotive Division. From 2020 to 2025 he was CEO of Plastic Omnium, later renamed OPmobility. During that time he led a major transformation of the company, expanding its global footprint, diversifying its customer base and widening its technology and product range.

The Marelli Board thanked Henderson for his leadership during a critical period. It said he had brought stability and focus to the business, supported its people and customers, and made significant progress in talks with Marelli’s carmaker partners.
