German companies are contributing the maximum to India’s GDP: Bernhard Steinruecke

An Evening’s Convocation was organized by the 12th Batch of the Indo-German Training Centre (IGTC), with 16 students successfully coming out of the post-graduation.

Ltd., Mr. Achim Fabig, Consul General, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Chennai, and Mr. Klaus Nielsen, Managing Director, Heidelberg India Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Ranjit Pratap, Chairman SRC, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), and Managing Director, Rialto Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., welcomed the gathering and said the upskilling and continuous learning is required for today’s young generation and the Chamber will support all the students in their endeavors.

Mr. Bernhard Steinruecke, Director General, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, said there are 30 large German manufacturing companies in India and the relationship between India and Germany in trade matters is extremely strong, and the hidden talent of Indians is excellent and skill development will be very useful for their career. In India, 177 German manufacturing units, 3,056 offices, 62,655 dealers, 2,973 franchise partners, 1,57,530 agents, 2,03,402 direct employment, 1,21,406 indirect employment, 41,375 partner employ dealers, 9,201 franchise employee partners are there in India. This confirms the fact that German companies are contributing the maximum to the GDP of India.

Mr. Klaus Nielsen, Managing Director, Heidelberg India, in his address, in his felicitation address, said India is a land of opportunities, and the 115-years-old printing doyen Heidelberg is a pioneer in the Indian printing industry with more than 7,000 newspapers and 34,000 magazines coming out in the printing industry. The Indians are highly talented and he enjoyed his tenure in Chennai compared to the previous work location in Korea.

Mr. Anand Sundaresan, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, SCHWING Stetter (India) Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, in his special address, said the current batch of students are very smart and are prepared for the changing and challenging needs of the industry by improving their habits and attitudes for attaining precision and passion for excellent team-work, communication, high energy level, value-based education, innovation, methodology in doing the right things at the right time.

Mr. Achim Fabig, Consul General, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Chennai, observed in his presentation that this is the last meeting of his office as he has been transferred out of Chennai after he completed 5 years in the city. Chennai gave him a great support, and both the Indian and German Governments are sharing their best knowledge in nurturing the mutual growth and development.

Mr. T.R. Gopalan, Regional Director, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, and Director, IGTC, Chennai, said this is the 12th batch of students coming out with graduation and all the 16 students were honored with Degree Certificates. The Indo German Training Centre constantly with innovation is upgrading the subjects in tune with current technology, and its USP is an opportunity of apprenticeship in the industry and business houses, many of them often resulting in permanent job placements. The industry has to accept interns in gaining a slow acceptance, but they are lucky to have few partnering companies like SCHWING Stetter, Schenker India, BMW, Daimler Financial Services, Siemens, Ram-Nath & Co., Kerry Indev Logistics, Motan-Colortronic Plastics Machinery, Siemens-Gamesa Renewable Power, Baerlocher India Additives, Koerting Engineering, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, ACME Die System, etc.

Apart from this, German companies like Deutsche Bank, RheinBrücke IT Consulting India, B-Braun, F&S, Ernst & Young,  Heidelberg are fully supporting IGTC in bringing out the best talents in the industry.

Mr. Arun Kumar Davay, Academic Faculty, IGTC, advised students for horizontal exposure and vertical expertise which is required very badly to meet the challenges in the VUCA WORLD (Volatility/Uncertainty/Complexity/Ambiguity).
