Ashok Leyland commits Rs. 5 crores towards COVID relief

Ashok Leyland has come forward to support Tamil Nadu’s COVID relief initiatives with a sum of Rs. 5 crores. Balachander. NV, Chief Sustainability Officer and President – Communications, CSR & Corporate Affairs, Dr. N. Saravanan, Chief Technology Officer, and Sasikumar, Head HR – Product Development & CSR, met M.K. Stalin, TN Chief Minister and handed over Rs. 3 crores towards the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The remaining sum of Rs. 2 crores is being directly invested in setting up of oxygen generation plants in Hosur Govt. Hospital and providing ventilator beds, oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators to Stanley Medical College Hospital. Discussions are also currently underway with the Health Dept. to set up an oxygen plant in the Govt. Hospital in Kolli Hills.   

Rane Group allocates Rs. 3.80 crores in fight against COVID

Rane Group has contributed Rs. 1 crore to the Tamil Nadu Government for its fight against COVID. Harish Lakshman, Vice Chairman, Rane Group, and senior officials called on the State Chief Minister M K Stalin and handed over a cheque for Rs. 1 crore. In addition to the above, Rane Group companies have spent an aggregate amount of Rs. 1.80 crores towards various other COVID-19 relief measures. The group has supported several primary healthcare centres and hospitals towards supply of critical medical equipment such as ventilator supported ICU beds, oxygen cylinders and medical supplies including masks, gloves, sanitisers, etc. The Group companies are also working closely with various government agencies and NGOs to spend an additional support up to Rs. 1 crore.    

Lucas TVS donates Rs. 3 crores to support fight against COVID

The entire nation has been battling tough times since the emergence of COVID across the country for the last 18 months. The nationwide lockdown and preparing ourselves to face this battle have brought us a never-before-seen experience. The Lucas TVS family is at the forefront of addressing these issues as well as spreading awareness across its home state of Tamil Nadu in the fight against COVID.

Arvind Balaji, Joint Managing Director, and Priyamvada Balaji, Executive Director, Lucas TVS accompanied by Ramadoss, Group CHRO, met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and handed over cheques on behalf of Lucas TVS, Delphi TVS, and India Nippon Electricals aggregating to Rs. 3 crores to the CM’s Public Relief Fund. Support in the form of medical equipment, accessories are being extended to hospitals near Lucas TVS’ 13 plants in India to fight the pandemic.

Lucas TVS has been taking various precautionary measures to protect its employee workforce from the pandemic with a team of highly collaborative employees who have joined together for the successful implementations of various protocols, precautionary measures and guidelines in line with government’s COVID-19 protocol. An ERT group with 30 members which later became a 300 member group to ensure safety within the factory premises was formed. The company’s COVID warriors made sure that proper transportation facilities were arranged for its employees to ensure safety while adhering to guidelines and protocols. This also includes providing food / ambulance facility for COVI-affected employees and their families. The company has provided 24/7 medical consulting for any doubts and clarifications to prevent from the infection also to take various precautionary measures. It also extends one to one counselling through psychologists / medical  experts.  Tie-up with premier hospitals have been arranged for any medical emergency for its employees and their families.

The Employee Care Group of Lucas TVS has extended their utmost support to the society by tying up with Govt. of Tamil Nadu to create COVID shelter to accommodate more than 300 patients. 10,000 food packets have been provided daily and corporation sanitizers have been made available for migrated workmen, COVID volunteers etc., through Chennai Corporation.

Besides taking steps to vaccinate all its employees above 45 years across all its plant locations, the company has also organized vaccination camps at its Uttarakhand plant to vaccinate employees and the public. Efforts are on to vaccinate all its employees above 18 years as rapidly as possible, with close to 80% of employees being covered so far.
