ASDC partners with TCS iON to ‘Skill at Scale’

Target to skill over 10 million young aspirants

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a partnership between its strategic unit TCS iON and the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) to reimagine and scale ASDC’s initiatives to identify potential candidates, equip them with the necessary skills and match them with appropriate job opportunities in the auto sector.

ASDC is the first Sector Skill Council (SSC) embracing this transformation of moving ahead with digital transformation of the way Skill Council operates in India. This collaboration is expected to bring various value propositions for ASDC such as standardization of processes, digital affiliation and audit trails for better control and integration.

ASDC is embarking on this transformation with the active support from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), and the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA). ASDC supports the Government’s Skill India program and schemes like Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY) that seek to enhance the skills of young aspirants to make them more relevant and qualified for employment in the automotive industry.

TCS iON will closely work with the Skill Council to understand the dynamic workforce requirements of the industry and accordingly develop classroom and digital learning modules based on its unique ‘Phygital’ learning methodology. The Digital Assessment Platform will help conduct knowledge and skill assessments and an intelligent algorithm will carefully match the skilled youth to the right jobs, at speed and scale. TCS iON will also bring ASDC’s training partner ecosystem onto the same platform and help the Council manage affiliations, enhance quality of delivery and improve transparency.
