The commercial vehicle industry is entering a decade where safety, operational efficiency and total lifecycle value will define purchasing decisions more than acquisition cost alone. While electrification will continue to influence vehicle development, the industry will also witness wider adoption of AI-enabled telematics, predictive maintenance and connected vehicle technologies that provide real-time visibility into vehicle health, reduce downtime and improve fleet profitability.
He also emphasised that safety will remain the industry’s highest priority. As better highways enable higher average vehicle speeds, demand for advanced braking systems, stable running gear and intelligent safety technologies will grow significantly. The industry’s focus, he noted, will move beyond regulatory compliance towards preventing accidents and protecting lives through stronger collaboration between manufacturers, suppliers, fleet operators and regulators.
