For Ahmedabad-based Aadinath Bulk Pvt. Ltd., growth has never been measured merely by fleet size. From its beginnings as a furnace oil transportation company in 1996, the company has evolved into one of Gujarat’s leading mobility operators with over 375 buses across public transport, school transportation, staff mobility, premium intercity travel and cargo services. Today, it transports nearly one million passengers every month and is among the largest Volvo coach operators in Western India.

According to Ms. Jalpa Jain, Director, Aadinath Bulk Pvt. Ltd., the company’s transformation has been guided by a larger purpose. “Transportation is not merely about moving vehicles; it is about moving lives, aspirations and opportunities. Every service we operate has an impact on education, employment, business growth and the daily lives of people. That belief continues to guide our decisions and long-term vision.”

Aadinath’s journey began as Shree Aadinath Bulk Carriers, primarily serving the furnace oil transportation sector. Built on principles of discipline, integrity and dependable service, the company earned a strong reputation among its customers.

As India’s cities expanded and mobility demands increased, the management recognised an opportunity to diversify into passenger transportation. Through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, the company entered the bus transportation sector, initially operating intra-city services in Ahmedabad before gradually expanding its presence.

Over the years, Aadinath became a trusted operating partner for major transportation systems such as Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS), Surat BRTS and Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), strengthening its operational capabilities and laying the foundation for future growth.

“Every phase of our growth has been built on execution. We focused on service quality, operational discipline and customer trust. Those fundamentals allowed us to expand into multiple transportation segments while maintaining consistency in our performance,” says Jalpa.

Today, Aadinath’s growth is driven by a leadership team that combines financial discipline with operational excellence. Jinal Jain, a Chartered Accountant, has played a key role in shaping the company’s expansion strategy with a focus on sustainable growth. During the COVID-19 pandemic, prudent financial management helped the company navigate one of the industry’s most challenging periods and emerge stronger.

Manoj Ahir, Chief Operating Officer and a Chartered Accountant, brings the same commitment to operational excellence. With Aadinath operating more than 100 Volvo buses, Manoj personally completed Volvo’s driver training programme and became a certified Volvo driver. This hands-on experience has provided valuable insights into vehicle operations, safety, driver challenges and passenger expectations.

As Aadinath established itself in public transportation, educational institutions, industries and corporate organisations began seeking professionally managed mobility solutions. This led to the company’s expansion into school transportation, staff mobility and premium intercity operations.

The launch of Aadigo Bus & Cargo marked another important milestone, strengthening its presence in the intercity travel segment while leveraging the operational expertise built over decades. Today, Aadinath operates across public transportation, employee mobility, school transport, intercity travel and cargo services, creating a diversified and resilient business model.

The company’s ability to serve multiple customer segments has helped it build long-term relationships while reducing dependence on any single market segment.

Aadinath currently operates a fleet of more than 375 buses supported by over 1,000 employees. Its operations span Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Rajkot and Bhuj, while its intercity services connect more than 20 destinations across Gujarat.

The fleet includes 204 CNG buses and 171 diesel buses, reflecting the company’s gradual transition towards cleaner mobility solutions. With more than 100 Volvo coaches, Aadinath has also established itself as one of the largest Volvo bus operators in Western India, serving passengers seeking premium travel experiences.

The scale of these operations translates into approximately one million passenger journeys every month, making the company a significant contributor to Gujarat’s transportation ecosystem.

“What makes us proud is not merely the size of our fleet but the trust passengers place in us every day. Every journey represents a responsibility, and maintaining that trust remains our highest priority,” says Jalpa.

Technology has become a central pillar of Aadinath’s business strategy. The company has invested in GPS tracking, GPRS-enabled monitoring, automated passenger announcement systems, LED destination displays, ERP platforms, IoT-based fleet management and AI-driven analytics.

Notably, Aadinath began implementing IoT and AI technologies as early as 2019, well before they became widely adopted across the transportation industry. Its 24×7 control centre continuously monitors fleet movements, route adherence, driver behaviour and overall operational performance, enabling proactive decision-making.

Technology also supports route planning, occupancy optimisation and asset utilisation through continuous analysis of demand patterns, traffic conditions and operational data.

“We believe mobility companies of the future will increasingly operate as technology-driven organisations. Data, analytics and connected systems are helping us make better decisions, improve safety and enhance passenger experience every day,” says Jalpa.

Operational reliability remains one of Aadinath’s strongest differentiators. The company operates dedicated maintenance facilities across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Surat and Bhuj, supported by preventive maintenance schedules, ERP-based workshop management, IoT monitoring and rapid-response technical teams.

These systems have helped the company consistently achieve over 99 percent on-road performance, a benchmark that reflects its commitment to dependable service delivery.

The company’s commitment to operational excellence has also received industry recognition. Recently, Aadinath Bulk was honoured with the Excellence Award in Private Stage Carrier at PRAWAAS 5.0, receiving the award from the Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat at Gandhinagar. The recognition reflects the company’s sustained focus on delivering safe, reliable and high-quality passenger transportation services.

Safety receives equal attention, particularly in school and staff transportation operations. School buses are equipped with GPS tracking systems, fire safety equipment and strict monitoring mechanisms, while drivers and attendants undergo specialised training focused on child safety and emergency preparedness. Employee transportation services are supported by rigorous driver evaluation processes, route discipline and technology-enabled monitoring systems.

While technology and fleet expansion often attract attention, Jalpa believes the company’s greatest strength lies in its people. Aadinath has introduced several employee welfare initiatives, including subsidised meals, health and eye check-ups, accident insurance coverage, healthcare support programmes and CPR training.

The company views transportation as a people-driven business where drivers, technicians, conductors and operational teams play a vital role in delivering safe and reliable services. As one of the few transportation companies with women in leadership positions, Aadinath also places significant emphasis on empathy, safety and human-centred decision-making.

Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its fleet to 1,000 buses within the next two years while strengthening its presence across public transportation, premium intercity mobility, school transportation, staff mobility and cargo logistics. At the same time, it continues to prepare for the industry’s gradual transition towards electric mobility.

“Our aspiration is not simply to become a larger transportation company. We want to build one of India’s most respected mobility organisations, known for technology, safety, sustainability and service excellence. If we can continue connecting people to opportunities while improving lives along the way, we will consider that our greatest achievement,” concludes Jalpa.
