Wheels India Air Suspension Division lines up interesting array of products

Wheels India, leading supplier of wheels for all vehicle systems and air suspension systems for commercial vehicles, will be presenting its products as part of the TVS Group Pavilion in Hall 12, one of the star attractions at Auto Expo 2018 – Components. Wheels India’s Air Suspension Division will be focusing on three main products at the show this year – Electronically Controlled Air Suspension (ECAS), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Electronic Ride Control Valve (ERCV).

Being a market leader in air-suspensions for trucks and buses in the country, Wheels India will continue its thrust on the segment by displaying a down-scaled working model of its ECAS at its booth. The down-scaled model will be functional, thereby making demonstrations possible for customers and other visitors to get a first-hand feel of the working of the product and its inherent benefits.

The second product, Wheels India’s TPMS, is a truly unique development given the fact that it comes with a striking new feature that has the potential to eliminate a major human error factor from the system.  Today, almost all choices of TPMS available in the market call for the driver to push a refresh switch for the right TPMS data to appear on the dashboard, meaning, if the driver misses pushing the switch, the data displayed could be an incorrect one. Wheels India has designed its TPMS in such a way that the refreshing happens automatically, without the driver having to intervene, thereby making the system fool-proof from human error.

The third and final product in focus at the Wheels India Air Suspension side would be its ERCV which is an effective low-cost alternative for the ECAS. The fact that many vehicles on Indian roads are air-suspended only in the rear and not in front makes the ERCV an interesting proposition for fleet customers. Wheels India’s ERCV, ensures the vehicle is suspended at the optimal level in order to deliver enhanced ride comfort and improved handling for the driver. The product is currently under trial in around 50 buses of various STUs across the country, some of them having crossed 1.5 lakh km of testing, and has shown a significant improvement in fuel efficiency of the vehicles.

In addition to the above, another product Wheels India would be talking about at the Expo is its air suspension system for ICV & LCV buses that is growing increasingly popular, which comes with four bellows as compared to two-bellows on most other solutions available in the market. With many STUs opting to run smaller buses on shorter distance routes, Wheels India has made the most of the situation by delivering its proven suspension systems to various leading STUs across the country, while it is also the preferred choice of all OEMs in the domestic market.

The home-grown supplier is also bullish about its prospects in truck lift axles, a product line where volumes have nearly doubled this year (FY18) over last year, driven by the robust growth recorded by the country’s top four truck makers.

With an interesting line up of products in place, Wheels India is keen on demonstrating & presenting its new technologies to its esteemed OEM customers while it is also eager to welcome its respected STU and private fleet customers to its booth at Auto Expo.
