T V Sundram Iyengar & Sons Ltd. recently opened a new state-of-the-art dealership for Ashok Leyland’s heavy commercial vehicles with 3S (Sales, Service and Spares) facility at Oragadam near Chennai.
The new dealership is the third such facility in the city, the other two located at Poonamallee and Madhavaram. TVS & Sons is the authorized dealer for Ashok Leyland’s medium & heavy commercial vehicles in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
The inauguration of the third dealership in Chennai goes to highlight the commitment of TVS & Sons to meet the growing demand of the steadily expanding base of Ashok Leyland customers.
The new facility covering an area of 73,000 sq. ft. was inaugurated by Mr. Rajive Saharia, Executive Director – Marketing, Ashok Leyland, in the presence of Mr. N. Krishnamoorthy, President, Dealership Business, TVS & Sons, Mr. P. Nachimuthu, Senior Vice President, AL-SBU, TVS & Sons, and other officials from TVS & Sons and Ashok Leyland. With this new facility, the company takes its tally of Ashok Leyland facilities in Tamil Nadu to 27 and the overall facilities to 63 across India.
TVS & Sons is also the authorized dealer for Ashok Leyland in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarkant.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration, Mr. Krishnamoorthy commented: “TVS & Sons and Ashok Leyland cherish a long-term relationship and mutual respect for each other’s business. Inauguration of this new facility today goes to show the further strengthening of our relationship. Going forward, we would be looking to establish more facilities in tier II & III locations within a grid of 50 to 100 km depending on the requirement of the location to serve the customers better. Besides network expansion, TVS & Sons has also taken up many improvement initiatives in commercial vehicle servicing, using tools such as Kaizen and Lean which has helped in reducing the turn-around time of the service by half.”
