“The CE market is buoyant” – Srinivasa Raghavan, Director – Sales & Business Development, Scania

EXCON expectations

“The show days at EXCON offer a unique time – both to us and to our customers to hold technical discussions at length. We feel that this kind of time is needed to show our customers how they can garner a potential benefit and value proposition from the benefit analyses.”

Prospects in slowdown

“Liquidity crunch is real but we have customers who are ready to buy, and the market environment is definitely much more conducive today. And we feel that the market is buoyant. Customers are flowing in. And we are positive and bullish about the whole thing. And this exhibition and the volumes it is displaying prove that the market is vibrant and active.

“The market has been positive for Scania, and we have continued to be positive about the future outcomes from the current slowdown too. We believe that the Scania will have a bigger and larger in pie and share in the market in coming times.”

Unveiling…

“Scania has displayed NTG G440 XT Heavy Tipper which is garnering a lot of eyeballs. The New Truck Generation (NTG) is unique in its modular system and is designed to deliver improved productivity. We are offering customized solutions with this model and the response has been tremendous. We have seen that the customers have grown to be discerning in their demand and are understanding the nuances of the product we are offering.

“The advantage of NTG is on multiple levels – one, it is manufactured by Scania Commercial Vehicles India outside of Bengaluru; two, it has been tried and tested in the Indian mining conditions which are tough. If I have to quote an example, the Indian mining conditions are extremely hot. So, the NTG comes with 40% higher cooling capacity. This feature alone has been highly appreciated by our customers and this is what differentiates our product from the competition and it is becoming the most welcomed product in the market today.

“As is already known that Scania, by default, designs and equips all its trucks with ergonomic cabins, to make them comfortable for the drivers. We are also known for building the safest cabins in the world especially those meant for mining conditions.”

CE outlook

“We are aware that we are operating in an economic environment which is cyclical and seasonal. We are happy with the response here and we have been able to move more trucks this year after the launch of the NTG in spite of all the global and local economic slowdown. We will continue to deliver our best, as always.”
