Says Mr. Senthil Kumar – GM, Sales & Marketing, Simpson & Co.: “Our 4 cylinder S433 – 3.3 litre and TSJ 436- 3.6 litre engines are workhorses with better back up torque and optimum performance fully addressing the duty cycles of equipment required in the field.”

Currently, Simpsons supplies the above-said engines for Material Handling (Forklifts, Hydra Cranes), Earth Moving (Compactors, Skid Steer Loaders, Pavers), Construction (Concrete Mixers, Pumps) and Stationary applications (Power-gen, Compressors).

As part of its product development program, Simpsons has already developed common rail engines in 2.6, 2.7 litre (3 cylinder) and 3.6 litre capacity (4 cylinder), with engines ranging from 35 to 75 hp available in the market. In order to expand the range over 75 hp, Simpsons has already initiated a new development program for a four cylinder engine with a 3.7 litre capacity which will support OEMs requirements up to 120 hp.

With its common rail series, Simpsons is keen on focusing on international markets such as Europe and North America, in addition to its erstwhile dominance in the domestic non-emission markets. Currently the products are approved for Tier 4F, EU Stage 3B and are in the process of EU Stage 5 approval.

The company’s recent introduction of engines in the Turkish market has been successful with clear emphasis being laid on consolidating the engine requirements from the region similar to the domestic market.

In addition to new product development, Simpsons is also continuously working on enhancing value to OEMs on existing products by delivering longer service intervals and technologies that ensure low friction, vibration and noise. “Our new initiatives are focused on minimizing fuel consumption, lowering operating cost and also enhancing the life of the engine,” informs Mr. Senthil Kumar.

Simpsons also offers Direct to Customer (D2C) product support through its 30 dedicated service centres located in industrial areas across the country. The technicians at all of its centres have been well trained at the Simpsons Training Facility to be able to offer assistance for effective maintenance of its products.
