Sharing details about NTC’s specific targets for 2020, Mr. K.P. Ajit Menon, Executive Director, NTC Logistics, states: “Our targets for 2020 include becoming a global leader in the logistics space; achieving a turnover of over Rs. 2020 crores; ensuring all our customers and stakeholders are delighted. While fleet modernisation and expansion are part of our priorities, we are also focusing on HR and people management. In terms of growth, we are looking at both organic and inorganic growth and are open for making acquisitions that would add value to our business.”

NTC, with its vast experience in the logistics domain, knows the importance of quality and trained manpower to come out on top. With the technology level of vehicles going up in quick time, the shortage of skilled drivers is a major concern for the industry. Mr. Chandramohan shares: “The demand for higher horsepower vehicles is growing and technology advancement will continue to happen. The overall market and the requirement for vehicles seems to be growing but one main challenge the industry is facing today is shortage of drivers. The estimated number of drivers required is around 15 lakh for the next 10 years. Finding quality drivers and skilled manpower for the logistics business and the commercial transport segment is a major challenge today.  With all the technological advancement happening, we will require literate and educated drivers who can understand the technology and put it to best use.”
