IVC Logistics Charts a Course to Set New Industry Benchmarks

The Indian automobile logistics industry is set to witness one of its biggest transformations by 2030, driven by infrastructure development, multimodal transportation, sustainability, and technology.

The PM GatiShakti Master Plan, Dedicated Freight Corridors, expressways, and ring roads will boost logistics efficiency through faster transit, reduced congestion, and stronger road-rail connectivity, driving multimodal transport — rail for long-haul, road for first/last-mile. Fleet design will advance to improve efficiency, asset utilisation, cost reduction, and emissions, offering greater flexibility for evolving needs.

Sustainability will define the industry by 2030, with growing adoption of CNG, LNG, and electric prime movers, backed by government initiatives, technology advances, and alternative fuel infrastructure.

Digital transformation — AI, predictive analytics, IoT telematics, control towers, and real-time fleet visibility — will become standard, enabling data-driven decisions, predictive maintenance, automated scheduling, and route optimisation.

Safety will gain focus through ADAS dashcams, driver monitoring, and risk management systems, while workforce development addresses driver shortages via training, digital enablement, welfare initiatives, and better working conditions, Mr. Singhal said.

Technology remains a key differentiator — having pioneered AC cabins industry-wide, it is now investing in AI-based control towers, AI-driven fleet management, TPMS, RFID tracking, predictive maintenance, and ADAS dashcams, with future connected-vehicle tech enabling instant driver-control tower-workshop-emergency communication.
