Gold Seal – Saargummi, in all its 60 years of existence, has always focused on offering its global and local OEM customers technologically advanced products. Lately, it is focusing on utilizing new materials that offer minimal negative impact on the environment and are more recyclable with better characteristics and new designs. And recently an innovative product, Vario Section, was launched.

Mrs. Pilloo Cyrus Aga, Director, Gold Seal – Sargummi, shared: “Vario Section is where we extrude the product and hence the raw material is not wasted. This process takes less time because non-value operations are eliminated. This is a win-win for all the stakeholders involved. The OEMs get the perfect radii, our cost is reduced, and it is environmentally green. We have the first mover advantage in this.”

Mr. Darius C. Aga, Director, Gold Seal – Saargummi India, added: “We are able to change the cross-section of the profile during extrusion and, in the same profile, we are able to have different cross-sections to meet different applications in one single piece. This is a new patented innovation that we have introduced at our plant in Ahmedabad just under two years ago though this was being produced at our Daman plant for the last eight years.”

Gold Seal has always been at the forefront of offering latest technology, design and innovations owing to its JV with its German counterpart. He said: “We are able to bring the latest products here at a competitive Indian price for the benefit of our customers. We are already focusing on new materials in our EPDM rubber profiles, and we are entering Thermoplastic Elastomer or TPE space also. We have new items with TPE extrusions and TPE molding as well.”

He also spoke about a new design and technology center at the newly-opened Ahmedabad facility. “Here we are able to do full turn-key design, black-box design with 2-D and 3-D simulation, bending analysis. All of this was being done in Germany till now, but we began working on this in India almost two years ago for all our global programs.”

Gold Seal is planning to put up a plant to cater to a major passenger car OEM in Tamil Nadu. Located in Sriperumbudur, the plant which will have five production lines is expected to be ready in the next three months.

Gold Seal is bound by its quantitative and qualitative goals to reduce the number of vendors and parts and is in line with another product known as Endless Seal launched by it.

Mrs. Pilloo explained: “This is a 1000 meters of a profile on one roll, and this one product can be used on all models of vehicles. This way, our customers will have smaller amounts of inventory and the OEMs will be less burdened on their production lines.”

Gold Seal constantly strives to remain cost competitive for the benefit of its OEM customers.
