FM Logistic inaugurates first owned multi-client warehouse in India

The newly inaugurated facility will offer 7.6 lakh sq. feet of warehousing space and is located strategically to provide faster access to major consumption centres in the north

FM Logistic, a leading French 3PL company, has inaugurated its first owned multi-client facility (MCF) in India at Farrukh Nagar, Haryana. The occasion was graced by Jean-Christophe Machet, CEO, FM Logistic, Stephane Descarpentries, Managing Director (Asia and Strategic Projects), FM Logistic and Alexandre-Amine Soufiani, Managing Director, FM Logistic India. The newly inaugurated MCF is part of the five-year USD 150 million investment plan the company announced in March 2019. Located on a 31-acre site, the state-of-the-art facility will provide cutting-edge warehousing and handling, co-packing, distribution, e-commerce and omnichannel services to cater to the dynamic demands of customers.

The construction of this facility has been supervised by NG Concept, the real estate sister company of FM Logistic. Addressing the media at the newly inaugurated facility, Jean-Christophe Machet said, “FM Logistic in India is ready to cater to the rising demand for omnichannel commerce which is driving the demand for outsourced logistics services. With this new state-of-the-art facility in Farrukh Nagar, we aim to help our customers efficiently answer their growing business needs and help them build and maintain sustainable omnichannel supply chains.”

Spread across 7.6 lakh sq. feet, FM Logistic India’s new warehousing facility is one of its kinds in India. The facility enjoys strategic access to Kundali-Manesar-Palwal Expressway (Delhi) and thus provides faster access to major consumption centres in the north. Equipped with a storage capacity of 1 lakh pallet positions, the facility also provides for a dedicated space to carry out co-packing and other value-added activities. Ample docking stations, two and three-wheeler parking slots, electric vehicle (EV) charging points, MHE charging points, etc. are some of the unique features of this newly constructed facility.

The facility offers a 12 metre clear height and FM2 densified floors. To cater to unique customer requirements, provisions for battery-operated MHEs and MTS (multi-tier shelving) racking systems have been made. Furnished with best-in-class safety and security features, the warehouse offers quality storage, handling and distribution services which are cost-efficient. FM Logistic is a family-run organisation with deep-rooted human values. Every care has been taken to ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of all collaborators at the facility. The new warehouse is replete with a pantry, medical room for emergencies, creche and drivers’ relaxation quarters.

It is equipped with insulation panels on the roof as well as walls to ensure that temperature within the warehouse is 6-8 degrees less that the external temperature. CO2 sensors have been installed to check the CO2 levels. Sustainability being at the heart of operations at FM Logistic, the facility combines both FM Global and LEED Silver certifications. The facility is equipped with top-of-the-class fire safety provisions. On the 31-acre campus, more than 1 lakh sq. feet has been covered with local plants and trees. Clean energy generation through use of solar panels, water treatment plant, rainwater harvesting, pebble mulching for water conservation, sensory LED lighting, etc. are some of the other sustainable features of the facility.
