Chartered Speed signs MoU with GIFT City to speed up EV adoption

The collaboration aims to promote electric vehicles as the transportation of choice in GIFT City

Mobility services provider Chartered Speed has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GIFT City – India’s first smart city – and IFSC to work together towards building a dynamic electric vehicles (EV) ecosystem in the city. The collaboration aims to enhance public transport facilities for commuting to and from GIFT city, as well as promote and strengthen EV infrastructure in Ahmedabad and Gandhi Nagar region. As part of the MoU, Chartered Speed will provide EV mobility for intra-city and inter-city travel in which the company will operate electric bus service connecting GIFT City with Ahmedabad and Gandhi Nagar.

It will also provide electric bikes for convenience of people working, residing and visiting GIFT City. Chartered Speed will manage the day-to-day fleet operations, including drivers, route, fare collection, maintenance of buses and the setting up of charging infrastructure across GIFT City. Speaking on the occasion, Tapan Ray, Managing Director and Group CEO, GIFT City, said: “As GIFT City continues to set benchmarks in sustainable development and innovation in the country, the collaboration with Chartered Speed will open a new chapter in green mobility solutions.”
