As vehicle production and exports grow, the role of logistics providers will move from operational necessity to strategic advantage, says Mr. Amit Bamb, Director, Axis Carriers & Logistics.

India’s automotive industry is at the beginning of a defining decade. “By 2030, I believe India will not only be one of the world’s largest automobile markets but also a preferred global manufacturing and export hub. The combination of policy support, infrastructure investments, digital transformation and increasing domestic demand will fundamentally reshape the automotive ecosystem,” Mr. Bamb said.
The biggest shift will not simply be the transition to electric vehicles. The real transformation will be in the way vehicles are manufactured, moved and delivered. Supply chains will become faster, more transparent and increasingly data-driven. Artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, connected fleets and real-time visibility will become integral to logistics operations rather than optional differentiators. At the same time, sustainability, safety and operational efficiency will move to the centre of every strategic decision.
For the finished vehicle logistics sector, the expectations of OEMs are evolving rapidly. They are looking for logistics partners who can deliver consistency, scalability, technology integration and nationwide reach while maintaining the highest standards of quality and vehicle safety. As vehicle production and exports continue to grow, logistics providers will play an even more strategic role in enabling India’s automotive ambitions.
The Way Forward
“At Axis Carriers, we see ourselves as long-term partners in this journey. Our vision is to build one of India’s most trusted, technology-enabled and future-ready automotive logistics companies. Over the coming years, we will continue investing in modern transport equipment, intelligent fleet management systems, predictive maintenance, data-driven decision-making and stronger ESG practices. Our objective is to improve efficiency while reducing transit time, enhancing vehicle safety and creating greater value for our customers,” he mentioned.
The Indian automotive industry has consistently demonstrated resilience and adaptability through every economic cycle. “We are confident that the decade leading to 2030 will create unprecedented opportunities for manufacturers, suppliers and logistics companies alike. At Axis Carriers, we remain committed to supporting this growth by continuously investing in people, technology and operational excellence, ensuring that we contribute meaningfully to India’s emergence as a global automotive powerhouse,” Mr. Bamb added.
