Auto Expo – Motor Show next month to focus on ‘Entire Mobility Ecosystem’

Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2018 – organized by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) jointly with the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is scheduled to be held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, during February 9-14. The inaugural function of the show will be held on February 8.

The 2018 edition aims at creating an alluring experience for the visitors by resurrecting a new brand image which will not only just focus on the static display of motor vehicles, but will focus on the “Entire Mobility Eco-System”, a complete automobile package with the theme of “Co-Create, Co-Exist and Celebrate”. This metamorphosis will not only rechristen the image of ‘Auto Expo – The Motor Show’ internationally, amongst the illustrious line-up of motor shows but will also allow the discerning visitors to experience, comprehend and appreciate the kaleidoscopic journey of the automobile industry, especially over the last 20 years. The auto show will portray a complex labyrinth of safety, emissions and sustainability in a juxtaposed blueprint, to share the complex evolutionary cycle of the automobile industry.

Due to an increasing demand and footfall of visitors in the previous edition, the organisers decided to extend the motor show with one additional day. Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2018 will witness participation of vehicle manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Mahindra & Mahindra, Honda Cars, SML Isuzu, Renault, Hyundai, Toyota Kirloskar, Hero MotoCorp, Ashok Leyland, TVS Motor, HMSI, Piaggio, BMW, Honda Motorcycles and Scooter, India Yamaha, JBM Auto, Suzuki Motorcycles, and many more major players in the Indian market. Apart from the above vehicle brands, there will be some new entrants in this edition like Kia Motors, India Kawasaki, etc.

Online booking of entry tickets has already commenced on BookMyShow.com. The tickets for the expo are priced between Rs. 750 to Rs. 350. Tickets for weekday’s business hours will be Rs. 750 and for public hours will be Rs. 350. The business & public hours will be from 10 AM – 1 PM and 1 PM – 6 PM, respectively. The week-ends will be public days from 10 AM – 7 PM, with tickets priced at Rs. 475. The ticket price for the additional day (February 14) will be Rs. 450.

Keeping this in mind, the following special zones are being introduced to provide the visitors with a holistic experience of the industry, namely:

  • Automotive Innovation: This zone will showcase various innovations in the last 12 months by organisation, educational institutions and start-ups that have impacted and will positively impacted everyday lives. Electric vehicles and Technology solutions will have special focus here.
  • Exotica: This zone will see display of heritage cars and super cars and will be curated by their associations
  • Motorsports: The Motorsports Club of India will display rally vehicles and various memorabilia
  • Auto Gaming Arena: The E-gaming Society to organise the first All-India Auto Gaming Championship
  • Future Mobility Experience: Virtual reality experience of driving connected and autonomous electric vehicles on various roads to introduce the concept of future mobility
  • 70 Years of Indian Automobility: A special zone on 70 years of the automobile industry in India, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of our Independence
  • Anti-counterfeiting: Various engaging activities of SIAM to promote genuine spareparts
  • Application Vehicles: Display of various application vehicles like milk van, Army trucks, school bus, postal vehicle, fire tender, refrigerated vans, etc.
