Volvo Trucks at IAA 2026: New Drivelines & Technologies point the way forward

Volvo Trucks’ presence at IAA 2026 in Hanover, Germany, will highlight the company’s recent successes and milestones while offering a glimpse into the future of trucking. New and improved trucks, drivelines and services are set to deliver greater value and opportunities for customers and their businesses, while supporting their confidence in a rapidly evolving industry.

New possibilities for customers, the transport industry and society will be at the heart of Volvo Trucks’ presence at IAA 2026. The company’s stand will showcase the full scope of its trucks, technologies and services, with a focus on helping customers maximise their return on investment, improve efficiency and strengthen their businesses for the future.

Volvo will showcase its latest electric, gas and diesel drivelines, supporting customers at different stages of their decarbonisation journeys while helping them meet their day-to-day productivity and uptime goals. The company will have eight trucks on display, with a further seven available for test drives.

Electric truck with up to 700 km range

One of the highlights will be the opportunity to start test drives directly from the Volvo Trucks stand in Hall 11. Visitors will be able to test-drive the new Volvo FH Aero Electric, with an extended range of up to 700 km, experience the new, more fuel-efficient D13 engine, and get a preview of the future hydrogen-powered combustion-engine truck, which is scheduled for launch before 2030.

Volvo Trucks President Roger Alm sees the test-drive programme as an opportunity to bring customers closer to the company’s latest trucks and drivelines. “With the test-driving track right by our stand, we want to show our new trucks and drivelines at their best – on the road!”

Complete Business Solutions

Highlights of Volvo’s complete business offering will include guidance on choosing the right driveline, support for driver safety and performance, and the benefits of partnering with Volvo.

The offering will cover service contracts and Volvo’s network of more than 2,500 certified workshops and dealers, as well as financing and digital uptime services. Together with Volvo Trucks, customers will also be able to explore the next steps towards adopting alternative and renewable fuels, developing fuelling or charging infrastructure, and achieving seamless operation across mixed fleets.

European Market Leader for Two Consecutive Years

For two consecutive years, 2024 and 2025, Volvo Trucks has been recognised as the European market leader in heavy trucks weighing 16 tonnes and above.

A key contributor to this performance has been the Volvo FH Aero, which offers improved aerodynamics and fuel efficiency, with more than 70,000 trucks sold to date. Volvo’s battery-electric trucks have also surpassed the milestone of 450 million kilometres driven.

At the same time, Volvo’s trucks continue to achieve the maximum five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, with all seven models tested so far receiving five stars.

With further technological advances and new product launches planned for 2026, Volvo Trucks aims to build on this momentum and deliver greater value to customers around the world.

“We’re very proud and excited to have so much to show our customers and the transport industry,” says Roger Alm, President, Volvo Trucks. “It’s the result of serious investment and our commitment to empowering drivers, customers and their businesses – not just now but in the future. We’re looking forward to meeting up with all our partners. It’s going to be a great event.”
