New Tata Motors 3S facility features a 32-bay workshop, strengthening after-sales support for CV customers across Chennai

Vijai Trucking, a leading Tata Motors channel partner in Chennai, has expanded its customer support infrastructure with the inauguration of a new 3S facility featuring a 32-bay workshop. The largest such Tata Motors setup in Tamil Nadu and one of the largest in the country, the facility represents a significant investment in service capacity, with a focus on improving vehicle uptime and customer support across the commercial vehicle spectrum.
The inauguration brought together a large gathering of customers, transporters, Tata Motors representatives and industry stakeholders, with participation from across the LCV, IMCV and HCV truck segments as well as the bus operator community. The strong customer presence underlined the depth of Vijai Trucking’s relationship with the transport fraternity and the importance of dependable after-sales support in a market where vehicle downtime directly impacts fleet productivity and profitability.
The new facility adds another important chapter to Vijai Trucking’s journey. The company, operating under Vijai Earthmoving Equipment Private Limited, was started in 1991 and incorporated in 1993, and has more than three decades of dealership experience. Customer service remains a stated priority for the company, which currently has a network of Tata Motors sales outlets across Chennai.

A major investment in customer support
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. G Saravana Sekar, Director, Vijai Trucking, highlighted the scale of the new facility and the organisation’s commitment to its partnership with Tata Motors and its customers. He also acknowledged the support of his family, the Tata Motors team and customers in the company’s growth.
For Saravana Sekar, however, the investment is about more than physical infrastructure. A key objective is to address some of the most critical challenges faced by commercial vehicle operators – particularly vehicle breakdowns, spare-parts availability and service turnaround time.

“We understand that without spare parts being available, it is impossible to service customers effectively. We are addressing this first-hand and remain open to your feedback and ideas. We will continue to improve.”
This focus is particularly relevant in commercial vehicle operations, where every day a vehicle remains off the road can have a direct financial impact on its owner. The new facility is therefore expected to provide greater workshop capacity while enabling Vijai Trucking to respond more effectively to the requirements of its growing customer base.
The diverse customer participation at the event reflected this market reach. Transporters representing a variety of applications, including industrial, steel, cement and sand movement, were present alongside bus operators and customers from other commercial vehicle segments.

Customer satisfaction takes centre stage
Mr. Rajesh Kaul, VP & Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors, who was the chief guest, congratulated the Vijai Trucking team on the new infrastructure. He highlighted the 32 workbays, accident-repair capability, washing facilities, customer support areas and the manpower deployed at the facility.
Kaul emphasised that such infrastructure ultimately needs to translate into a better customer experience rather than being measured only in terms of increased business volumes.
“We are not interested only in increased volumes; what we are interested in is increased customer satisfaction – the smiles on customers’ faces and the delight our services bring to customers.”

For commercial vehicle operators, this is closely linked to uptime. A truck generates revenue only when it is operating, making quick response following a breakdown or accident a critical requirement. Kaul stressed the importance of reducing response times and ensuring that vehicles are returned to the road as quickly as possible.
He also pointed to the growing role of data, artificial intelligence and machine learning in understanding vehicle applications, routes and service requirements. Such capabilities can help service networks anticipate demand, improve parts availability and deploy resources more effectively.
Kaul also highlighted the positive market response to Tata Motors’ products, including vehicles offering higher payload capabilities and improved operating economics. He called for continued customer feedback to help Tata Motors and its channel partners refine products and services in line with evolving requirements.

Building for future growth
Mr. N. Ravishankar, Director, Vijai Trucking, and CMD, Triway Group of Companies, reflected on the growth of the business and the contribution of customers and employees to its development. He also highlighted the importance of translating the investment in infrastructure into faster and more effective service.
His message to the workshop and operations teams was straightforward – customer requirements must remain the priority, with turnaround time playing a critical role.
“Try to satisfy the customer, find out a new way, and find out how to do it fast. Think about how you can do your job better and faster, and keep the customers happy.”
Ravishankar also indicated that the organisation has ambitions to expand its presence further in Chennai over the next five years, potentially adding more outlets as the market grows.
The expansion strategy reflects the changing requirements of commercial vehicle customers. As fleets become more focused on asset utilisation and total cost of ownership, the quality and speed of after-sales support are becoming increasingly important factors in the overall vehicle ownership proposition.
Strengthening the Tata Motors ecosystem
The inauguration of Vijai Trucking’s new 3S facility comes at a time when uptime, service responsiveness and operating economics are becoming increasingly important to commercial vehicle operators.
With its 32-bay workshop and expanded support infrastructure, the new facility gives Vijai Trucking a substantially larger platform to serve customers across the truck and bus segments. More importantly, it strengthens the Tata Motors customer ecosystem in Chennai by adding capacity where it matters most – keeping vehicles productive and reducing downtime.
The strong participation of customers from LCVs, IMCVs, HCVs and the bus segment demonstrated the breadth of the market Vijai Trucking serves. It also reinforced the need for a service network capable of supporting diverse applications and operating requirements.
For Vijai Trucking, the new facility is both a continuation of its more than three-decade dealership journey and a platform for the next phase of growth. For Tata Motors, it strengthens an important channel-partner relationship in a key commercial vehicle market.
Ultimately, the success of the facility will not be measured by its size alone, but by how effectively it helps customers keep their vehicles moving. That customer-centric objective was the common thread running through the inauguration – and is likely to define the next phase of Vijai Trucking’s growth.
