VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., the joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has recorded sales of 5,977 units in May 2018 as compared to 4,573 units in May 2017, recording a growth of 30.7%.
Of the total JV sales volume, Eicher branded trucks & buses have recorded sales of 5,874 units in May 2018 (YTD 9813 units) as compared to 4,539 units in May 2017 (LYTD 7616 units), representing a growth of 29.4%. Eicher’s domestic sales for May 2018 stood at 5,268 units (YTD 8,657 units) as compared to 3,953 units in May 2017 (LYTD 6531 units), reflecting a growth of 33.3%. On the exports front, Eicher recorded sales of 606 units during the month (YTD 1,156 units) as compared to 586 units in May 2017 (LYTD 1085 units), a growth of 3.4%.
Of the total 5,977 units sold by the JV company, the sales of Volvo Trucks stood at 103 units (YTD 123 units) as compared to 34 units during the same month in the previous year (LYTD 46 units), projecting into a growth of over 202%.
