Building a technology-enabled, sustainable and customer-centric logistics ecosystem by 2030

India’s logistics sector is poised for a transformational decade as digital technologies, integrated infrastructure and sustainability reshape supply chains. According to Mr. Mahendra Shah, Chairman & Managing Director, V-Trans Group, the industry will increasingly rely on Artificial Intelligence, automation, IoT, predictive analytics and digital platforms to build smarter, faster and more resilient logistics networks by 2030.
Technology and Sustainability Driving the Next Phase
Mr. Shah believes that while digital transformation will redefine operational efficiency, sustainability will become equally important in determining long-term competitiveness. Green logistics through route optimisation, alternative fuels, energy-efficient warehouses and responsible resource management will become essential as businesses work towards reducing their environmental footprint.
India’s logistics industry, valued at over US$300 billion, is also set to benefit significantly from the Government’s continued investments under initiatives such as PM Gati Shakti, the National Logistics Policy, Dedicated Freight Corridors, Bharatmala, Sagarmala, Multimodal Logistics Parks and the expansion of National Waterways. These initiatives are creating a seamlessly connected transport ecosystem across road, rail, ports, airports and inland waterways while helping reduce logistics costs and improve supply chain efficiency. “The future of logistics will be built on intelligent technology, integrated infrastructure and unwavering customer trust,” said Mr. Shah.
Building a Future-Ready Integrated Logistics Ecosystem
Preparing for this transformation, V-Trans Group is strengthening its integrated logistics capabilities through its businesses V-Trans, V-Xpress and V-Logis. Mr. Shah shared that the Group’s vision is to become India’s most trusted technology-enabled logistics partner by delivering reliable, customer-centric and sustainable solutions.
The company’s product evolution strategy focuses on addressing emerging customer requirements through innovative offerings. V-Xpress has introduced services such as Box-N-Ship, providing secure parcel solutions for businesses and individuals, and Fauji Express, a dedicated logistics service designed to support India’s defence personnel and their families.
Meanwhile, V-Logis continues expanding its network of modern warehouses to cater to manufacturing, retail, chemicals and other industries. Its specialised ChemStore warehousing solution reflects the company’s commitment to safe handling of hazardous chemicals while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Mr. Shah added that V-Trans Group will continue investing in AI-driven transportation planning, intelligent warehouse management systems and data-led decision-making to enhance supply chain visibility and customer experience. Beyond business, the Group also remains committed to social responsibility through initiatives such as tree plantation drives, blood donation camps and community welfare programmes. “Innovation, sustainability and responsible business practices will be the pillars that enable logistics companies to contribute meaningfully to India’s growth journey,” Mr. Shah concluded.
