The third edition of Tyrexpo India exhibition held at the Chennai Trade Centre from July 7 to 9, attracted quality exhibitors and visitors all over. The expo acted as a bridge between buyers and sellers of tyres, garage and workshop equipment, and tyre accessories looking to do business in India. With Chennai positioned at the heart of the country’s automobile industry, Tyrexpo India was strategically placed to tap into the growing market potential in India.

The inaugural function of the three-day exhibition was attended by dignitaries, including Mr. Nirmal Singhvi, President of the Tamil Nadu Tyre Dealers’ Association, Mr. Sudarsan Varadaraj, Chairman and Managing Director of Elgi Rubber, Mr. Ashok P. Chhajer, Senior Deputy General Manager, Balkrishna Tyres Ltd., Mr. Adrian Sng, Director, SingEx-ECI, and Mr. Chandran Nair, General Manager, SingEx Holdings.

Mr. Nirmal Singhvi said: “It has been a pleasure to become involved in a very organised show for the Indian tyre industry in its best possible location. I believe India is on the threshold of moving forward in the next couple of years as an international tyre market to eventually compete with China in terms of products and services.”

Mr. Sudarsan Varadaraj observed that the show represented the continued growth of the tyre market in India, whilst Mr. Ashok P. Chhajer said, “it is an honour to help stage such an important event for the Indian tyre industry calendar, and the show is perfect for allowing visitors to learn who produces what all under one roof.”

The exhibitors shared the same positive outlook on India’s tyre industry with many looking to use Tyrexpo India to capitalise on the vast business opportunities available.

A spokesperson of Shih Fa Rubber Industries, which made its debut at Tyrexpo India, explained that, with India with its huge population, participating in the exhibition, provided them not only a perfect opportunity to look closely at the growing market potential that the country offers but also to embark on making the market aware of what the company has to offer in terms of quality products.

The Dubai-based Sun Global also made its very first appearance at Tyrexpo India 2015 with the distinct objective of launching its Nison brand range of PCR and TBR tyres into the Indian market. Mr. Nitesh Shewakramani, Executive Director, explained: “With India being a current target market for us, the show carries immense importance for Sun Global as we have an opportunity to showcase our products and services in this huge tyre market and meet and discuss what Sun Global can offer to various important people from the industry.”

Looking to focus on facilitating greater business and knowledge exchange amongst tyre industry circles, visitors at Tyrexpo India 2015 could attend new programs. For instance, the Tyrexpo Technical Workshop (TTW) was jointly presented by SingEx-ECI International and Elgi Rubber. Again, the inaugural Tyrexpo Technical workshops representing a series of training and demonstration sessions led by Elgi Rubber were tailor-made for visitors from the tyre repair trade, providing them with the much-needed industry training and retraining.
