TII Group makes huge impact with diverse portfolio

The TII Group, the global market leader in the production of vehicles with hydraulically-supported pendulum axles, showcased a string of innovations at the show. Both at the event and in the daily work of the TII Group, the customer remained the focus of attention. Customer feedback resulting from day-to-day transport operations flows directly into the development of new products, with many of them having been adapted to suit customer requirements in tough everyday transportation activities.

Just how diverse the product portfolio of the TII Group is was clearly seen in the broad range of innovations that were lined up at the show. The world’s strongest PowerBooster model, unprecedented self-propelled modular vehicles, the lightweight series for transport on public roads, special vehicles for the mining sector and equipment for landscape management were all on display on the generously-sized TII pavilion in the open-air area.

“At bauma 2016, we have placed our innovative solutions centre stage”, said Bernd Schwengsbier, President – TII Sales. “For our customers, we are much more than just a manufacturer. We are partners, consultants, trend barometer and a guarantee for the economic success of tomorrow rolled into one. This can only be carried out by one single group that places its synergies and experience completely in the service of their customers”.

1,000 hp PowerBooster

For many years now, the TII Group has been successful in the market with the PowerBooster, a technology which the company developed and introduced to the industry. PowerBoosters are in use around the world, and the TII Group now presented the second generation of this technology. On display was a SCHEUERLE-KAMAG K25 H 06 PB, equipped with a new, globally unique 1,000-hp PowerPack.

The group also introduced several innovations from the SPMT range, focusing on cost efficiency, versatility, emission-free operation and safety. All solutions together offer well-known advantages and benefits of a traditional SCHEUERLE SPMT, e.g., the robust design of the bogie units and electronic multi-directional steering with all the familiar steering programs. A wide range of features and models increase the lead over the competition even more, and further underpin the technological leadership of the TII Group in the industry which has the largest fleet of vehicles of this type in operation in the world.

The SCHEUERLE InterCombi SPE with Z390 EU 4 emissions standard was also on display along with a range of other products from the group’s portfolio.

‘India is a very interesting market’

Interview with Dr. Axel Müller, President, TII GmbH

What is TII Group’s focus at bauma this year? Would any of your products here be of interest for the Indian market?

We have a number of innovations here, including the complete electric SPMT model which is electric-steered and electric-driven. We have displayed our wind-blade adapter which has an allowance to erect the blade for more than 63 degrees, the largest angle in a market where competitor products can go only up to 60 degree. Our adapter is the only one with semi-automatic counter-weight which offers the kind of a software-steered solution against irritations by side winds and is an excellent solution, especially for mountain and forest regions.

In addition, we also have a 1,000 hp PowerBooster which is fully-braked, fully-powered and fully-loaded. This product could be interesting for the Indian market, and we hope customers there see it as a good opportunity.

Another product which would be of interest for the Indian market is our single-suspended axle which works almost without hoses and is nearly maintenance free. A closed system, it reduces the total cost of operation and gives a fully flexible hydraulic suspended solution.

TII being a market leader globally, how important is the Indian market for you?

India has huge growth on the population side and is becoming one of the largest markets in the world. Our investments in India are for the Indian market; it was not our idea to build products in India and bring them back to Europe. We will bring German-engineered products and will ‘Make in India’, like your PM’s strategy says.

What progress do you expect to make in India in the next couple of years?

We will be very happy if we can have sustainable growth and take part in the growth of the Indian market. We want to stay in India for the long-run and make our products locally. While we would like to provide training on technical know-how for the local people, we also learn a lot from India. It is a very interesting market with a large and optimistic set of people.
