Tata Motors delivers 25 Starbus hybrid electric buses to MMRDA

Tata Motors has delivered 25 units of its Starbus hybrid electric bus with full low floor configuration to MMRDA, marking the first commercial adoption of the series hybrid technology in the country. The buses were handed over by Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Chief Minister, in the presence of Mr. Anant Geete, Union Minister for Heavy Industry and Public Sector Enterprises, to the MMRDA officials.

Developed indigenously, the Tata Starbus Series hybrid bus comes with global design standards and looks stylish with a premium and robust road presence. The bus runs on dual power, i.e., diesel and electric, and is economically viable, safe and environmentally-friendly. It comes loaded with class-leading comfort and safety features for passengers and presents an interesting glimpse into the future of rapid urban mass transportation system in the country.

The vehicle also complies with all UBS-II, AIS 052 and CMVR. Mumbaikars can experience the first ‘Made in India’ hybrid buses on the Bandra Kurla Complex route in the city.
