Starcke Abrasives India took the opportunity at Auto Expo to showcase its premium abrasive products and reach out to the larger component manufacturing and aftermarket audience in the country. A subsidiary of the German-based Starcke GmbH, the company is directly present in the automotive-related service industry for the past six years.
“Our products are being used in India for more than a decade, previously supplied via authorized distributers and now marketed directly by us. As we are a bit new to the automotive-related sector, Auto Expo offered us a great platform to network with retailers, OEM clients and tier-1 and tier-2 component suppliers”, said Mr. Mahesh Shetty, Managing Director, Starcke Abrasives India. He added that this was their second participation in Auto Expo and had quite a good experience as before.
As a global abrasive supplier, Starcke’s business in Germany dates back to 1720s, continued its legacy as an independent, family-owned brand for abrasive cloths and papers all through the last century. Later on, the company diversified its products to include coated abrasives for industrial production and related services, along with high-quality tools.
In automotive applications, Starcke offers a wide range of products like grip disc (with paper / cloth backing) ideal for sanding galvanized sheet steel and aluminum in body work applications, e-coat and clear coat strips and discs for manual and automated applications, polishing sponges and compounds like for swift buffing and final touch-ups, and strips and grip discs with film and waterproof backing for paint repairs.
Said Mr. Shetty: “Starcke Abrasives India now wants to penetrate deep into automotive applications by reaching out to component suppliers, automotive dealers and body work service providers. We are also looking for suitable partners and retailers for our products to expand our distribution network across the country”.
