Speed-A-Way Pvt. Ltd., of the Amalgamations Group, one of the country’s leading aftermarket outfits, hosted its annual day on May 13 at Mahabalipuram near Chennai. The event attracted representatives from almost all of its principal brands who were in high spirits with Speed-A-Way’s impressive turnover of Rs. 225 crores in FY16 and its Rs. 250-crore target for FY17. The company has 45 branches and over 6,500 retail counters across the country. The company maintains its track record by becoming No.1 distributor for many of the brands marketed by it.
The chief guest of the occasion was Mr. T.A.B. Barathi, Vice-President – Supply Chain Management, Wheels India Ltd. Mr. S. Ramachandran, Director, Speed-A-Way Pvt. Ltd., gave a fitting introduction of the chief guest.
Mr. Barathi, a trainer in the field of supply chain management, delivered an impressive address to the delight of the entire audience. Starting off by saying that the one connecting link among the gathering was ‘automotive market’, which included representatives from production, distribution, marketing, suppliers, and customers, he spoke on how the customer profile and preferences are fast changing in today’s world.
Crucial aspects in today’s automotive industry, more specifically in the supply chain and distribution sector, such as quick delivery, pros & cons of e-commerce and technology, were touched upon by the supply chain expert, who urged the audience ‘to come out of their conservative zone’, and emphasized the importance of ‘focusing’ on the right thing at the right time and delivering the best ‘value’ for customers.
Mr. Barathi appreciated Speed-A-Way’s attitude as a market leader and its excellent team work, heaping special praise on Mr. Ramachandran and his role in management.
Following the chief guest’s address, awards were presented to the top-performing branches of Speed-A-Way.
