India’s No. 1 tractor export brand, Sonalika Tractors, has taken a major step toward sustainable agriculture by unveiling its all-new CNG/CBG tractor at the 16th Agrovision 2025 in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The launch took place in the presence of Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, and Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

This breakthrough aligns closely with the Government of India’s SATAT and GobarDHAN programmes, which aim to expand clean energy infrastructure and promote a circular rural economy. With this introduction, Sonalika strengthens its commitment to future-ready, eco-friendly tractors that blend clean fuel technology with the brand’s trademark heavy-duty performance.
The newly unveiled tractor is designed specifically for high-demand haulage operations, where torque, durability, and fuel savings are crucial. Key features include a 2000 RPM fuel-efficient engine, 12+3 constant mesh transmission with side-shift gears, and 14.9×28 rear tyres for superior traction and load-carrying capability. A 40 kg dual-tank capacity (14 kg + 27 kg) ensures longer running ranges and reduced refuelling stops — a major advantage for rural users.
Sonalika also showcased a tractor + trolley system designed to maximise operational efficiency using the expanding CNG refuelling network across rural India, enabling farmers to benefit from India’s growing clean-fuel ecosystem.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Raman Mittal, Joint Managing Director, International Tractors Limited, said, “Sonalika has always led with engineering breakthroughs, and our new CNG/CBG tractor is a significant milestone. The future of Indian farming lies in clean, smart, and economically viable technologies. This tractor strengthens India’s green mobility vision under SATAT and GobarDHAN, offering unmatched haulage power, lower operating costs, and an eco-friendly fuel system. Innovation drives us, and we are committed to empowering farmers with a prosperous, sustainable future.”
