Sika India has been proactive and aggressive in its approach in the automotive aftermarket space. The company is carrying forward the momentum from its recent initiatives into the ACMA Automechanika trade fair held from February 14 to 17 in New Delhi by presenting a versatile range of products and solutions for the aftermarket sector, all in line with its core focus area ‘customer safety’.
We hear from Mr. Amit Asija, National Business Development Head (Automotive Aftermarket), Sika India, on the company’s plans for the exhibition and its proactive approach towards safety.

On Sika’s focus at ACMA Automechanika this year
Sika’s Automotive Aftermarket division offers technologies and solutions from the manufacturer to the aftermarket. We are showcasing our latest innovations and products at Automechanika and will be presenting our full spectrum of automotive refinish solutions covering applications in sealing, bonding, damping, reinforcing, and protecting.
On new developments in aftermarket and market response
This year at the Automechanika, we plan to launch our Safety Initiative Campaign – “Safe or Save” and “Fight against Silicones”. This is because of the support we have received from our channel partners especially in the Auto Glass Replacement market. Along with them, we would want to take this further ahead. We would like to have prominent Automotive Glass Manufacturing companies also participating with us in this initiative very soon. Our aim is to educate the public about the importance of Windshield Adhesive through activities via social media.
On Sika’s focus on ‘Customer Safety’
The windshield is a critical component of a vehicle’s safety system. In addition to its many safety functions, the windshield also serves as the backboard or stop for passenger side airbag inflation. In the event of a collision, if the windshield is not installed properly, it can come loose and separate from the vehicle, potentially causing serious body injury to the occupants.
An important part of creating an adhesive system that provides a safe windshield installation is to provide a system which is easy to use and will reduce the possibility of errors. At Sika, we work hard to engineer the highest quality products which, when used in accordance with our complete installation instructions, will give users total peace of mind.
