SEAMLESS AUTOTECH calls for robust design and safety standards

With the regulatory norms getting more stringent, the manufacturing of car carriers is becoming better organised and the criticality has increased in the industry. To ensure sustainable growth, the fabricators have to come up with new designs and better safety standards, so that the transportation cost of hauling automobiles can be reduced, says Mr. Jitender Singh Ahluwalia, Chairman and Managing Director, Seamless Autotech.

Seamless Autotech Pvt. Ltd. (SAPL), India’s leading car carrier trailer manufacturer for over two decades, remains a destined supplier of car carrier solutions to automakers, logistics companies, and so on. It has carved a niche for itself in offering a wide range of ‘complete car carrier body solutions’, ranging from large twin-axle trailers to carrier bodies on rigid-axle trucks, to haul all types of passenger cars. Its manufacturing facility is located at Chakan near Pune for easy access to automakers.

The company has supplied car carriers / bike carriers to domestic OEMs, including Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Bharat Benz and VE Commercial Vehicles. It also specialises in tractor carrier & tip trailer solutions, along with a host of flat-bed trailer and special-purpose trailers that has been supplied to companies like Sandvik Asia, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharat Forge and Defense, etc.

According to Mr. Ahluwalia, the company’s core strength is its superior engineering, design capabilities and vast experience. “We have a dedicated projects team for each order, while our products are based on cutting edge technology and continuous R&D innovation using high-grade raw material”.

He adds that SAPL complements engineering, design and strong branding with modern mass production practices, including standardization and fixturing, for delivering international quality products at competitive prices, with reliable delivery schedules.

While maintaining that the annual demand for car carriers in the domestic market hovers around 2,000-3,000 units on an average, Mr. Ahluwalia notes that the presence of local and unorganised fabricators and soaring input costs put the industry at a disadvantage. “But customers are looking for better products post regulatory compliance. OEMs and transporters demand maximisation of capacity of car carriers and enhanced safety to cars that are being transported – a decisive trend in the industry”, he adds.

As a trailer maker, Seamless Autotech is determined in its strategy of working closely with the requirements of OEMs and transporters, and bringing out new innovative designs in the market.
