Mandatory and other safety requirements in products
Safety is paramount and NFPIL is in the business of protecting lives. NFPIL has a wide range of products that help safeguard passenger vehicles such as buses, trucks, trailers, HEMM’, etc., against the risk of fire. Other than providing handheld extinguishers, we also provide most advanced Fire Detection and Suppression Systems that are fully automated. These systems provide security right from engine areas, battery and toolbox, fuel tank protection, pantry as well as passenger cabin protection.
Safety features and highlights in applications
NFPIL’s Fire detection and Suppression system is in compliance with the Automotive Industry Standards (AIS). We provide products that have been certified and accredited by various government approved testing agencies such as CIRT and ARAI. Tests are conducted as per various AIS including the latest AIS135 code. We strongly believe in the interest of passenger’s safety, there is an increasing need to employ such systems owing to the growing fire incidents.
Safety apprehensions at higher road speeds
We welcome this move which I do believe is in the interest of commuters. Globally we see speed limits which are in excess of 100 kmph. However in case studies of road accidents, fuel tank explosion has been one of the causes of loss of lives. This is especially true for heavy vehicles and vehicles carrying hazardous goods. We strongly believe the authorities have to do better in regulating safety standards in this sector.
Technology impact on safety in the times ahead
Renewable energy and green fuel is undoubtedly the future of automotive industry. While these are known to be environmental friendly and potentially safer, mishandling viz a viz design, housing, maintenance, exposure to heat; of fuel cells can be even more disastrous owing to the hazardous and explosive nature of materials used. Proper safety features and checks have to be employed to ensure there are no unfortunate events.
Light-weighting necessity and trend
Our systems and products are designed and developed keeping in mind so as to not impact the overall weight of the vehicle. Our vehicle fire detection system is compact and light weight with minimal interference in daily maintenance activities.
Our products are mostly developed keeping in mind the harsh environments that they will be used in. For this reason we do not promote the use of plastics, polymer or any such poor quality materials that are known to be toxic and non-durable.
