Motor Show Oman 2016, the 18th international exhibition of the latest car models and the best auto parts & accessories, will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, Muscat, during December 7-10.
The increase in GDP growth in recent years as well as higher incomes resulting in high rates of car ownership per household, a fast-growing population, and low oil prices have led to Oman being an increasingly vital market for automobile manufacturers. Over the years, there has been an increase in the number of players, especially top global companies, entering the market.
In recent years, an approximate 7.5 per cent increase in the number of cars registered per annum has led to an estimated number of more than 1.6 million vehicles by 2020. This is expected to lead to a significant increase in demand for vehicles and automotive parts and the opportunity for local manufacturers to capture the market.
A study to identify and assess the commercial and investment opportunities offered by Oman’s automobile sector indicates a potential for the manufacture of automotive parts. This increasing demand for and supply of automotive components is a result of the rise in global vehicle production levels.
