Montra Electric Opens First West Bengal Dealership to Bring EVIATOR e-SCV to Kolkata

Montra Electric has inaugurated its first electric small commercial vehicle dealership in West Bengal, partnering with Next Drive Mobility to open a sales, service, and spare parts facility in Howrah, Kolkata. The launch formally introduces the EVIATOR e-SCV to the region’s last-mile delivery ecosystem.

The timing is deliberate. West Bengal’s commercial fleet continues to run on diesel at a higher rate than the rest of India, and EV adoption beyond small commercial vehicles has been limited. Kolkata and Howrah, however, already show stronger EV uptake in the small commercial vehicle segment than the rest of the state — a signal that the market is ready.

Montra Electric enters West Bengal from a position of momentum. The EVIATOR 350L, launched in January 2025, captured over 30% market share in the 3.5-tonne e-SCV segment in FY25 within 12 months of launch. The national EVIATOR fleet has now crossed 1,000 vehicles, and the operating data from those vehicles gives new customers in Kolkata a clear picture of real-world performance.

The EVIATOR range includes three variants — the E350 with a 32 kWh battery, the E350L with 40 kWh, and the E350L+ with 50 kWh — all designed to carry a 1.7-tonne payload on a 10.3-foot loading deck. Powered by a liquid-cooled LFP battery, the platform delivers a real-world range of over 200 km and supports CCS2 DC fast charging to 80% in approximately 60 minutes. Running costs are rated at ₹2.35 per kilometre, with warranty options of up to seven years on both battery and vehicle.

Mr. Saju Nair, CEO of e-SCV at Montra Electric, said the Kolkata dealership is built to close the electrification gap in West Bengal’s commercial fleet, starting in Howrah. Mr. Saurabh Khetan, Dealer Principal of Next Drive Mobility, said the launch is a timely response to rising demand for sustainable transport among regional fleet operators.
