With varying power, torque nodes and powered by Mahindra and Mahindra’s advanced m2Di engine with diesel and CNG options, the vehicle comes with multiple payload capacities. Changing Dynamics Pickup Segment

Mahindra and Mahindra’s strategy of offering attractive financing schemes with low down payments (as low as Rs 24,999) and flexible payment options has made the larger pickups more affordable and accessible to customers, thereby influencing their purchase decisions. One of the key factors that influenced the development of the Bolero MaXX Pik-Up range is the changing dynamics of the pickup segment in India.

In the earlier era, there was a clear distinction between smaller vehicles with less than 0.75 tonnes payload capacity and larger pickups with 1.3-1.5 tonnes payload capacity. However, with the evolution of customer preferences and market demand, Mahindra and Mahindra decided to expand its portfolio and create higher payload variants. This led to the introduction of city versions of the pickup, which cater to applications where the payload requirement is less but the volume is not driven by high demand. This approach has allowed the company to tap into a segment that was previously untapped and cater to the diverse needs of customers.

The New Variants

The Bolero MaXX Pik-Up range comes in two series – HD series (HD 2.0L, 1.7L and 1.7, 1.3) and City series (City 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and City CNG) – and is designed to provide customers higher operational and earning capability as well as a seamless and delightful on-road experience. Additionally, the new range offers higher payload capacity, better mileage and performance, improved comfort and safety, and a highly reliable and efficient transport solution. The Bolero MaXX Pik-Up HD 2.0L is designed to handle rugged terrain such as rural and hilly areas. It has a cargo bed length of 3,050 mm and a payload of 2 tonnes, making it a segment leader due to its loading capability.

The robust chassis and strong body, along with the best-in-segment 7R16 tyre, ensures stability and can withstand wear and tear during loading. This vehicle is ideal for demanding applications such as construction, agriculture and fisheries, making it perfect for heavy-duty deliveries. The City version is designed for intra-city use and perfect for fleet owners and commercial vehicle buyers who require a smaller, more fuel-efficient pickup truck. With impressive payload options and fuel efficiency of 17.2 km per litre, this vehicle is perfect for delivering goods in crowded cities. The torque of 200 Nm and bigger tyre make it easy to carry any load with ease.

The exterior is pretty rugged and trendy at the same time. It includes space for reflectors and fog lamps, as well as a tow hook and chrome-highlighted grill with the Mahindra and Mahindra logo. The headlamps are large and have turn-safe lights to ensure safety for pedestrians. The cargo deck has hooks for securing bulky items and the door graphics are impressive. The vehicle also boasts of over-slung rigid leaf springs and ahead leaf springs as well as a single plate dry clutch, LED tail lamps, rear sensors and the company logo at the back.

Moving inside the vehicle, you will find manual windows, height-adjustable seats, a sliding lever and nice upholstery. The seats also have adjustable headrests and there is a sliding window to see the cargo area. Reading lights and seatbelts are also included.
