Says Mr. Aurovindo Jati, Head – South Asia & Middle East, Midtronics Inc.: “The DSS-7000, our latest offering for the Indian market, is a tablet-cum-testing operation with an app to test the battery. The new vehicles in India have a lot of battery challenges. So to address this, our new battery tester can capture useful data regarding the starter motor and alternator. Another important advantage of the product is that it can capture battery data of Idle-Start-Stop (ISS) vehicles which is a very critical vehicle application.”

Another new offering from the Midtronics’ stable is the GRX-3000 series battery charger. “The GRX-3000 series is our new diagnostic fast-charger platform capable of charging batteries up to 90 per cent in 40 to 60 minutes’ time. The charger does not require the battery to be pulled out of the car as it can just be plugged to the battery in its usual position within the car’s bonnet. If the battery has a potential problem, the charger would reject it within 5 to 10 minutes and produce a print-out indicating the battery health. We are working closely with OEMs for battery management solutions, and while we have been offering solutions only for lead acid batteries, we are also equipped to handle Li-ion batteries now”, adds Mr. Jati.

Having made excellent success in the aftermarket, Midtronics is expanding its ties with the OEMs where it has already garnered a dominant 90 per cent market share when it comes to battery management solutions. The company is also upgrading its systems further with its advanced algorithms to enhance its offerings for the benefit of customers.
