MG Group, one of India’s leading privately-owned bus and coach manufacturers, marked a major milestone with the unveiling of its new corporate identity and the launch of TIGRA, a revolutionary range of in-house developed super-premium intercity coaches. Designed and manufactured at the Group’s state-of-the-art coach facility in Belagavi, Karnataka, TIGRA is engineered for exceptional comfort, safety, and serviceability, and is available on all 13.5-metre coach chassis platforms for both domestic and international markets.

The double launch took place at the MG Group’s flagship event titled “RE:BORN”, held at The Royal Senate, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru. In attendance were MG Group’s leadership team, including Mr. Anil Mohan Kamat, Chairman & Managing Director; Mr. Sivakumar V., President – Strategy & Sales; and Mr. Gireesha Prabhu, Chief Operating Officer, along with key stakeholders from across the automotive and mobility ecosystem – including coach customers, suppliers, and technology partners.
“In the bus and coach body-building industry, progress doesn’t happen overnight. It is built on strong relationships, consistent quality, and the ability to evolve with changing transportation needs,” said Mr. Sivakumar V. “MG is not just a legacy of engineering – it’s a legacy of character. TIGRA is poised to become a segment leader from day one, and we’re confident of that.”
Strategic Repositioning with a New Brand Identity
The unveiling of the new corporate identity also commemorates ten years since MG Group’s foray into the premium coach segment. The reimagined logo features an uninterrupted flow from ‘M’ to ‘G’, symbolising a seamless journey from concept to customer, while its hexagonal silhouette – reminiscent of a metal bolt – reinforces MG’s deep-rooted engineering prowess.
This brand transformation signifies MG’s evolution from a high-volume contract manufacturer to a product-led, brand-driven provider of mobility solutions. It underscores a strategic repositioning aimed at creating visibility, customer value, and long-term brand equity in a fast-changing transport landscape.
“Over the past four decades, MG has earned its reputation through consistent execution, design innovation, and enduring OEM partnerships,” said Mr. Anil Mohan Kamat. “This brand refresh marks a turning point – we are stepping out from behind the scenes as a reliable vendor to lead from the front with bold design, premium offerings like TIGRA, and a stronger market presence.”

The new identity is supported by a refreshed visual language and messaging architecture, aimed at capturing MG’s full-spectrum capabilities and aspirations in the intercity and future-ready mobility spaces.
“Today, we don’t just unveil a new identity – we usher in a new era,” said Mr. Gireesha Prabhu. “An era that’s bold in stance, global in vision, and human at heart. TIGRA exemplifies this shift, offering world-class comfort, safety, and serviceability across all 13.5-metre coach platforms.”
