In an informal chat with MOTORINDIA at the recently-held SIAT 2013, Mr. Hans-Georg Hummel, Sr. Expert Program Management Powertrain Solutions, MBtech Group GmbH & Co. KGaA, said being a company independent of Daimler now, MBtech is set to expand its operations in India which is emerging one of the fastest growing automotive markets in the world. Currently, 65 per cent of the equity is owned by AKKA Technology, and the balance 35 per cent is held by Daimler.
Regardless of whether components, systems or modules, MBtech supports automobile manufacturers and suppliers beginning with detailed specifications covering design, calculation and testing onwards to series maturity. It combines these engineering competencies with tailored consulting services that enable customers to best utilize their technologies and innovations, and thus achieve clear competitive advantages.
MBtech offers vehicle engineering solutions in design, body development, chassis development, full-vehicle integration, full-vehicle testing, and CAx methods, training and support.
In India too, MBtech is the engineering partner for Daimler India Private Ltd. (DIPL), offering critical services and solutions for the BS IV and BS V model commercial vehicles. It is also working closely with other commercial vehicle manufacturers, including Mahindra & Mahindra, Force Motors, etc. The company aim is to grow slowly but steadily in India by undertaking selective projects at a time.
