MB Pneumatyka partners with Ajita Metals to enter Indian market

A letter of intent was signed to establish a joint venture between MB Pneumatyka (MBP) of Poland and Ajita Metals, headquartered in Gujarat, India. The cooperation is aimed at providing the Polish company with production support and entry to the Indian market and support for selected Asian markets. MBP is the only one in Poland and one of the four leading companies in Europe producing connectors for pneumatic systems in commercial vehicles. The component manufacturer has been providing proprietary, patent-protected solutions for 20 years, basing the production on the developed IATF quality standard.

The company also boasts a modern and well-equipped laboratory, which conducts a wide range of tests, required for the approval of connectors for use in the braking systems of commercial vehicles. As part of cooperation with Ajita, training courses are conducted to raise the production standards of the Indian partner to the standards used in MBP. As Malgorzata Bieniaszewska, the founder of MBP noted: “The training of the Ajita team began even before the official signing of the contract when we hosted the owner of the company, Dinesh Kothiya, in Poland. Since June, we have been gradually training the remaining staff, sharing our knowledge and experience with them.”

“Our goal is to introduce to Ajita the highest production standards that apply at MBP. Observing the progress, I can safely say that everything is going in the right direction. This is particularly important to us, because we are aware that the Indian market is open to adopting European standard solutions that will be produced in their area. I believe that MBP’s connectors, produced in cooperation with Ajita, will be a response to these expectations,” he added. Currently, both companies are working on the best possible preparation for the start of production.

Expansion and Recognition

The Polish connectors’ supplier also plans to expand its team with Indian representatives. That is why they already have started looking for engineers-constructors and technical advisors, who will ultimately support the customers of this market. The job offer can be found on MB Pneumatyka’s profile on LinkedIn. Establishing cooperation with Ajita is not the only milestone of MBP. At this year’s IAA in Hanover, the company received an award in the prestigious Trailer Innovation 2023 competition, which was won by a new family of connectors with visual and audible leak detection. The innovative solution presented by the manufacturer has been covered by international patent protection.

Małgorzata Bieniaszewska said, “We submitted two solutions to this year’s trailer innovation competition: connectors with auto-leak detection and couplings. The first of them was appreciated by the jury. The award is particularly important to us because it concerns the only solution on the automotive market with a double (visual and audible) leak detection system. Therefore, with the expansion of the product catalogue, the production of our components in India is gaining even more business importance.” Entering the Indian market is not the end of MBP expansion. The company’s immediate plans include the opening of a branch in Germany. Talks are also being held with representatives of the automotive industry in Egypt.
