Lantal, the bus and coach interior designing expert

Lantal, a leading provider of textiles and services for bus and railway operators, showcased its extensive all-in-one soft interior solutions competence at the Busworld. The highlights were new design ideas and seat cover qualities with differentiated functionality profiles and looks that address the requirements of coach-builders and bus fleet operators.

Color-coordinated interiors contribute significantly to the passengers’ well-being and make the carrier’s brand and corporate identity visible and experienceable. In the quest for distinctiveness and cost-effectiveness, coach-builders and bus operators have different expectations with regard to the design, look and feel, processability, and longevity of seat cover fabrics.

A bus interior has an emotional impact on passengers if wallcoverings, headliners, curtains, headrest covers and carpets are co-ordinated.

“Finding the ‘right’ design for an interior that reflects brand values does not have to contradict the entrepreneur’s legitimate demand for cost-effectiveness,” says Sales Director Karl Kuriger. At the show, Lantal launched a technical-style flat weave in seven small-patterned or structured designs. Combined with leather for the boxing parts, these fabrics create a casually elegant ambience.

Lantal has also developed a very dense and lightweight velvet quality with a charmingly subtle gloss. The range encompasses nine designs with generous repeats featuring refined and understated backgrounds with colorful accents. The new polyester quality gets excellent scores in high-temperature lightfastness tests pursuant to ISO 105-B06; it has a very long service life, is ageing-resistant, and easy to process.

The company leverages its all-in-one solutions competence with a comprehensive selection of textiles and complementary services such as ready-to-fit parts, laboratory testing and counsel in the domains of interior styling and corporate design.

It all began on October 1, 1886, with linen fabrics for cheesemakers in the Emmental valley. As that era unfolded, people’s yearning and enthusiasm for mobility helped development of rail travel, cars and aircraft. Today, Lantal’s fascination with design and artisanship in weaving still shows in the company’s products. Thousands of tour coach interiors and public transportation fleets around the world have been outfitted with Lantal’s innovative products.
