KPIT Technologies, a global leader in mobility software and engineering solutions, has entered into a strategic research partnership with IIT Bombay, aimed at building an industry-ready research ecosystem that fuses academic excellence with real-world product development. The collaboration, formalised through an MoU signed on campus, places artificial intelligence at the core of joint research and solution development for next-generation mobility.
The partnership seeks to close the gap between early-stage academic research and deployable engineering outcomes by aligning master’s and doctoral programs with evolving mobility challenges. By working on industry-defined problem statements, research scholars will gain hands-on exposure to product engineering, system validation, regulatory frameworks, and deployment environments—ensuring their work advances beyond publication into real-world application.
Under the collaboration, faculty members, postgraduate researchers, and KPIT’s engineering teams will jointly accelerate the journey from lab prototypes to high-readiness-level technologies. The focus areas include safer mobility systems, intelligent and software-defined vehicle platforms, sustainable powertrains, and next-gen transportation infrastructure.
KPIT brings its global engineering expertise, while IIT Bombay contributes deep academic rigor and research capabilities. Together, they aim to create a seamless research-to-product pipeline that strengthens India’s deep-tech ecosystem, nurtures industry-ready talent, and drives scalable innovation in the mobility sector.
