Kobelco showcases 52-ton class mining-friendly excavator

Participating in the IMME for the first time, Kobelco Construction Equipment India Private Ltd. (KCEI) displayed a host of rugged excavators designed for mining applications. The star among them was the newly-improved, 10th generation model SK520XD LC featuring latest regenerative hydraulics technology that assures higher power output and lower fuel consumption.

Apprising the excavator as the ultimate mining machine, Mr. Mohan Duraiswami, Manager – Marketing, said that his company is promoting the product with the mining corporations in the Eastern region. “This region hosts a variety of heavy mining operations, and this expo is the right platform for us to take our products to the right clientele. We expect really good response and genuine customer queries in these three days”, he stated.

Asked on the company’s sales and service network in the region, he replied that Kobelco has fair number of service touch points and dealers in the mining region of East and North Eastern region. “Pan India we have over 29 dealers and numerous touch points. We have a large team of over 300 trained and experienced Service personnel based at strategic locations to provide prompt and reliable technical support”, he noted.

The new SK520XD LC excavator boasts improved cabin ergonomics and operator interface for user comfort, while improved filtration systems and regenerative hydraulics enhance longevity and durability, the company claims. The machine is powered by a 10.52-litre HINO engine generating 344 hp. The operating weight of the machine is rated at 50,800-51,100 kgs.

At the expo, Kobelco held key-handing ceremonies to some of its new customers in the region. With the merger of Kobelco Cranes India and Kobelco construction Equipment last year, the OEM’s product stable includes excavators from 14-85 tons (for construction and mining applications) and high-tonnage cranes.
