Electric AC units for big buses, Japanese Yanmar engine-driven Power Packs and engine powered AC units for large buses and 24 V DC powered AC units for truck driver cabins, were some of the new products launched by JTAC at Busworld India 2016. Dedicated to the task of catering to the air-conditioning systems of the Indian Bus industry, JTAC is rising up to the concerned ministry’s mandate to provide AC cabins to drivers. The company is set to clock around 5500 units of bus ACs in the current financial year, 90 per cent of it from the domestic market, giving it a dominant market share of around 40 per cent in the highly-competitive bus AC space in the country.
With international vehicle manufacturers displaying interest in JTAC’s products, the company foresees a hike in the bus air-conditioning market rising from the current 10 per cent to about 70 per cent by 2030.
