JCB’s exponential growth with market leadership

Founded in 1945 by Joseph Cyril Bamford, JCB, the world leader in earth-moving equipment production, started operations in a small garage in Uttoxeter, England. Innovation has throughout been the driving force of the company which says “it’s our lifeblood”.

With its worldwide presence, JCB has 24 plants, 750+ dealers, 2,000+ outlets, 150+ countries where it operates, and 12,500+ employees. The company is No.1 in the UK, Europe, India and the CIS countries.

JCB India has five factories with over 5,500+ employees, and eight product lines comprising 48 products, 60 dealers and 600 outlets.

In his presentation on ‘Beyond Customer Expectation’, at the 15th NIQR National Convention held in Chennai, Mr. Lokesh Pandey, Associate Vice President – Program Management Quality & Reliability Current Product Engg., JCB India Ltd., highlighted the company’s strategy to reach out to the customer with JCB Finance, mobile workshop, parts support, extended warranty, etc.

The company has 14 centres with over 24,000 + trained operators motivated by the mission of expanding employment and building awareness. The pervading culture of excellence within the organisation leads to stakeholders’ prosperity.

He said the company’s overall focus is on all 5Ps, uniform global product quality, market expansion and exploration of new markets, evolving customer-centric solutions, sustainable green growth, exponential skills and stakeholders prosperity.

In India, JCB has achieved exponential growth maintaining the leadership in the construction equipment field. For instance, it has delivered the first 25,000 machines in 25 years, and the next batch of 25,000 in three years, followed by the next 50,000 in three years. In the last five years, JCB has delivered 1,00,000 machines, taking the total tally to the 2-lakh mark. The sales continue growing.
