Mr. Shatrughan Kumar, Managing Director, Trans ACNR (India Office of Hwasung Thermo), in an exclusive interaction with MOTORINDIA, showcased the company’s new product range HT 350 and HT 700 A series. He said: “350 and 700 are new launches and are vehicle powered engine (power take-off is from the engine). It can cover upto 14 feet for frozen application and chilled application upto 24-foot container. It is lighter to previous generation and air flow is faster. It also has a 30 per cent weight reduction compared to what we were offering earlier.”

The company which has been doing reasonably well is particularly ecstatic from the demand coming from Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. Mr. Kumar added: “We are expecting about 30 per cent growth in our turnovers owing to the growing demand from the dairy industry in States like Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. We recently sold more than 100 units to an operator in either of them. Even last-mile reefer vehicles are increasing in number due to growing demand from the vegetables, fruits and pharma sector.”

Hwasung Thermo also displayed a delivery van built on the Force Motors Traveler platform. “This is a new concept for India, very much popular in the European and Gulf countries. We have developed it on a Force Motors chassis. We are also experimenting with a generator type unit. Unlike the traditional engine and compressor coupled together, it will run through generator. So it will be all electric, with an in-built compressor. It will reduce NVH as there will be no belt and no clutch, and also reduce the maintenance cost,” elaborated Mr. Kumar.
