H.D. Trailers Pvt. Ltd. (HDTPL) was incorporated in 2011, and from 2013 the company had started trading business of trailer parts (American / German type) from China. HDTPL is the exclusive distributor in India for Shandong Jinsheng Axle Manufacturing Co. Ltd., China, since 2013. The company has done trading business in several trailer parts like trailer axles, suspensions, landing gear, kingpin and even wheel rims to grow at 100 per cent per annum till 2016; which is applicable for container movement, coils and steel movement, oil & gas movement, cement movement, mining coal movement and Defense equipment movement on trailers.
In 2016, HDTPL started manufacturing axles, suspensions and running gears at its Patalganga MIDC facility in Maharashtra. “Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu are our core business markets with sales figure of approximately Rs. 50 crores annually. We are currently manufacturing 1,500 axles per month, 250-300 suspensions per month and approximately 30 units of running gears, the installed capacity of which is 100 units per month, apart from distributing wheel rims of Steel Strips Wheels Ltd. (SSWL) to the tune of 3,000-4,000 units per month. We have also launched the car carrier axles used for car carrier trailers”, disclosed Mr. Partha Ghosh, Managing Director, HDTPL.

As far as the sourcing of different trailer parts is concerned, HDTPL is believed to be the best company providing quality American and German type trailer parts in India. These OEM products are then quarantined by HDTPL and made available in all the nine HDTPL branches across the country.
“Since our formation, we have adhered to giving quality products. For instance, in single pics axle tube we offer a lifetime warranty of axle tubes. If something happens in the life-cycle (15 years) of the axle tube, we will give a free replacement. Our axles do not require lubrications up to 1 lakh km,” he added.
Another aspect that worries trailer operators is the service levels if the trailer breaks down. A breakdown can cost the transporter to the tune of Rs. 4,000-5,000 approximately per day. “We have quick service personnel attached to our branches that can attend to the vehicle and make it up and running within 24 hours. Aftersales service is our USP. These services are free for the warranty period and can be extended beyond the post warranty period at normal and minimum cost,” assured the MD.
