Greaves Cotton carries out raid in Delhi to seize spurious spare parts

As part of its nationwide initiative of cracking down on the businesses of spurious auto parts, Greaves Cotton Limited recently conducted a series of raids on manufacturers and traders of spurious parts at two locations in Delhi.  The recent raid conducted along with the Delhi police, seized spurious spare parts and counterfeit labels from Nishant Auto Spare, Karol Bagh and a godown from the central district in Delhi. Some of the spurious spare parts which were raided include push rod & sleeve set, packing pouch, M.R.P. stickers, cam shaft, valve set, rocker lever set, cylinder kit, disk oil seal, oil seal packing pouch. An FIR has been lodged against the shops raided, of which the warehouse belongs to Manoj Kumar and the manufacturing unit belongs to Rajesh Mohanlal (Nishant Auto Spare).

Commenting on this exercise, Mr. Nagesh Basavanhalli, MD & CEO said, “Greaves Cotton limited promotes and provides genuine spare parts as a part of commitment to our huge customer base. In order to guard the image and protect the share of genuine spares sales, Greaves Cotton often has been involved in carrying out these raids to keep constant check over this menace. Greaves Cotton maintains its value proposition of providing high performance, high quality, genuine and reliable parts from vast network of 3500+ aftermarket outlets across India”.

Manufacturing and selling counterfeit products is against Greaves’ philosophy of providing genuine spare parts, as its commitment to the five million plus customers on the roads today in the last mile transportation segment. Spurious parts damage the vehicle and is illicit to sell this under the name of reputed brand Greaves Cotton, which has been built over years on plank of trust and reliability.

The enforcement team consisting of the Indian Police and Greaves Cotton’s legal team has been working closely and identifying both manufacturing units, selling outlets and locations of counterfeit spares across major cities and trade hubs in India.
