French Delegation of Automotive and EV Suppliers says ‘Bonjour India’

Within the frame of ‘Bonjour India’, Business France – The French Trade & Investment Agency, the Federation of French Vehicle Equipment Industry (FIEV) and the European Association for Electromobility (AVERE) is hosting a delegation of 21 French suppliers of the automotive and electric mobility industry from 5th to 9th February 2018. The delegation visited Indian companies in Chennai and Delhi in addition to the Auto Expo Motor and Components shows. The primary purpose of the visit was to showcase the range of expertise that France can offer to meet the needs of Indian companies in order to integrate cleaner, innovative and environmentally responsible automotive solutions for India.

The automotive industry in India is not only one of the largest in the world, but also is evolving along with the Government’s efforts to promote electric mobility as one of the key solutions to reduce carbon emissions along with the introduction of the new BS-VI norms. India has become an increasingly interesting market, especially for French players, owing to the steadily growing presence of Renault and the advent of PSA this year. France is the largest electric mobility market in Europe and intends to contribute to India’s ambitious automotive program with its cutting-edge technologies. French players look forward to creating synergies with Indian companies through technical cooperation and partnerships.

Electric mobility being one of the principle themes for the delegation, a seminar on this subject was held at the French Embassy in Delhi on 7th February. Key Indian players and officials from the Niti Aayog (The National Institution for Transforming India) addressed the audience during the event. Moreover, Business France and the FIEV are organizing collective meetings with key OEM exhibitors at the Motor Show in order to promote a first dialogue between French and Indian companies. These meetings and site visits aim to enable the French suppliers to better understand the expectations, challenges and opportunities for the Indian market, thus leading to fruitful exchanges between the two counterparts.

This initiative between French and Indian players of the automotive industry endeavours to successfully create opportunities of international cooperation towards cleaner, more sophisticated, and an energy friendly automotive future. Following are the details of the French delegation participating at Auto Expo 2018:
