Green Drive Mobility, a fast-growing EV mobility and logistics platform, has announced a strategic partnership with FlixBus, the global travel-tech company transforming intercity transport, to launch electric intercity bus services between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam (Vizag). The initiative marks a step forward in the electrification of long-distance bus travel in India.
As part of the first phase of this partnership, four electric buses will be launched on the high-demand Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam corridor, one of Andhra Pradesh’s busiest travel routes. The initiative aims to offer passengers a comfortable, technology-enabled travel option while improving the environmental performance of operations compared to traditional diesel-fuelled coaches, and strengthening intercity connectivity between the two cities.
The collaboration brings together FlixBus’s global travel-technology platform, digital ticketing network, and demand generation capabilities with Green Drive Mobility’s electric fleet operations and mobility infrastructure. This combined approach is designed to enable efficient and more sustainable intercity transportation.
The initiative also aligns with India’s broader push toward cleaner mobility and the electrification of public transport, contributing to reduced emissions in the intercity travel segment.
Passengers on this route will benefit from zero-emission electric intercity travel (tank-to-wheel), comfortable long-distance buses equipped with modern amenities, seamless digital ticket booking through the FlixBus platform, and reliable, affordable connectivity between Vijayawada and Vizag.

The Vijayawada-Vizag corridor connects two key economic and cultural hubs of Andhra Pradesh and experiences strong passenger demand throughout the year. The deployment of electric buses on this route is expected to reduce carbon emissions while enhancing the quality and reliability of intercity connectivity in the region.
Green Drive Mobility plans to expand its electric intercity bus operations across additional routes in South India, supporting the transition toward cleaner and more sustainable mobility solutions.
