“EXCON seems to be reviving the market sentiment” – V.G. Sakthi Kumar, MD, Schwing Stetter (India)

CE industry – outlook

“In India, there are gaps in infrastructure. But new regulations, Bankruptcy Act and various procedures and systems currently being followed are part of the growing process. The government has announced many projects but the execution is the key thing. We feel it will take at least till the second half of 2020 for the industry to become robust again.”

EXCON takeaways

“The mood is upbeat. The response to our products is overwhelming. Apart from funds, and projects, we feel, the sentiment is the key. Unfortunately, it dipped for a bit in July. But EXCON seems to be reviving it. We are prepared to manage the show in the current level of numbers.

“Infrastructure growth in India is bound to happen. A mere few months of slowdown should not trigger doubts about the fundamental background in which the country is operating currently.

“Big cities are receiving good development and urbanization. But what about States like Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar? So, it is important for us to continue to innovate and build on our offerings. The mechanized way of construction today will need modern and intelligent machines. So, that is where we come in.”

Unveiling…

“We have introduced 22 new products at this EXCON. We have also recently celebrated the milestone of 1,400 self-loading mixers being sold. Then, we have a market share of over 25% and this year we have opened two more branches – one each in Haridwar and Madurai.

“We are showcasing IoT solutions in Super 6 and Super 7 concrete transit mixers through IoT In, IoT ready, IoT abled and Schwing Smartrack product solutions, besides hi-tech weighing system, and Schwing stationary concrete pump SP1015D/HD, SP 1420, and SP 4507. All these are in alignment with the EXCON 2019 theme of ‘Intelligent, Interconnected, Innovation, Infrastructure and Internet’. We are also offering GOMACO (USA) machines, which are available with mandatory safety cut-off at all locations where human involvement is more. Schwing Stetter India is positioning itself as an important infrastructure equipment partner for the future government projects and also in corporate and retail business.

“Launching a whole range of products in the times of obvious slowdown of economy reflects our belief that we get more growth and revenue with new products. Peoples’ plans change and they would like reduced risks. Especially, with the millennials taking over decision making roles, they wish to opt for smart products. It helps that our assets are classified as A-class which makes them eligible for 95% funding from the banks.”
