Escorts Kubota Launches Compact Tractor Built for India’s Horticulture Farmers

Escorts Kubota Limited has introduced the Kubota NeoStar, an upgraded compact tractor range in the 21–27 HP segment, designed specifically for sugarcane, vineyard, and horticulture applications. The launch is initially focused on high-potential farming clusters across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, and builds on Kubota’s existing base of over 80,000 compact and narrow tractor customers in India. The NeoStar series will be available across authorised Kubota dealerships in India. No pricing was announced at launch.

The NeoStar series comes in two configurations. The narrow variant, with a true width of around 2.98 feet, is built for sugarcane fields and narrow inter-row operations where standard tractors cannot manoeuvre without damaging crops. The standard NeoStar is positioned as an all-round compact tractor for orchards, vineyards, and multi-crop usage in confined spaces. A new addition to the range is a 27 HP narrow variant purpose-built for sugarcane interculture work. Power steering is standard across all models, and an Eco PTO feature improves fuel efficiency during field operations. The tractors are suited for interculture, spraying, haulage, and rotavator applications across orchards, sugarcane fields, and vineyards.

The NeoStar is aimed at farmers growing grapes, sugarcane, pomegranate, banana, and mango, as well as vegetable growers, orchard operators, and agri-entrepreneurs offering contract farming services — particularly progressive and young farmers with landholdings of one to five hectares.

Mr. Nikhil Nanda, Chairman and Managing Director, Escorts Kubota Limited, said, “The 21–30 HP compact segment has grown significantly over the last three years and is now a fast-growing part of the Indian tractor market, powered by the rapid mechanisation of horticulture. The NeoStar is a premium, application-led Kubota range that helps us capture incremental share in the high-growth horticulture belts of west, south and parts of central India.”

Mr. Akira Kato, Deputy Managing Director, said, “With the NeoStar series, we are bringing the best of Japanese technology, refined over decades in the world’s most demanding orchard and interculture operations, to the Indian horticulture farmer. The Eco PTO, power steering and true narrow-width design are not add-ons — they are the result of precision engineering aimed at giving farmers better farm productivity along with Japanese-grade reliability that lasts season after season.”

Mr. Rajan Chugh, Chief Officer, Tractor Division, said, “The NeoStar narrow 27 HP variant, with a true width of around 2.98 feet, moves comfortably through narrow sugarcane rows without any crop damage where standard tractors cannot operate. The compact design and multi-application suitability makes the Kubota NeoStar the right solution for orchard farmers.”
